Role at a Glance The Interior Design Technologist provides technical design and production support to the Interior Design team throughout all phases of a project. Working under the guidance of intermediate and senior interior designers and project architects, this role assists in developing drawing packages, coordinating consultant information, and preparing project documentation while building technical knowledge and project experience. This position is ideal for an early-career technologist with strong Revit skills, an interest in building construction, and a desire to develop within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. What You Will Do Technical Production
Prepare and revise architectural and interior design drawings using Revit. Develop floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, schedules, and drawing annotations. Maintain project models and ensure drawing standards are followed. Assist with document coordination through all project phases.
Project Support
Support project teams in schematic design, design development, construction documents, and contract administration. Coordinate architectural and interior design information with structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil consultants. Assist with field measurements, existing conditions documentation, and site verification. Participate in internal project meetings and coordination reviews.
Documentation
Assist with preparing drawing packages for permit, tender, and construction. Help maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and action items. Review drawings for completeness, consistency, and quality before issue. Assist with shop drawing and submittal reviews under the direction of senior staff.
Construction Support
Assist with responding to RFIs and preparing supplemental sketches. Participate in site reviews and record observations. Support preparation of deficiency lists and close-out documentation.
Professional Development
Develop knowledge of building systems, construction methods, accessibility standards, and applicable building codes. Learn WalterFedy standards, quality processes, and BIM workflows. Seek feedback and actively participate in mentoring and training opportunities. Continue developing technical proficiency and understanding of project delivery.
Qualifications
Diploma in Architectural Technology or Interior Design Technology, or equivalent education. 0–3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Revit; experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is considered an asset. Working knowledge of construction documentation and detailing. Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code and accessibility standards is considered an asset. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
