The posting

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate to join Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Operations within COO Technology. The team develops and supports technology solutions used across CIB Operations functions, including Capital Markets Trading Services, confirmations, broker-dealer operations technology, client data and onboarding, regulatory review and reporting, derivatives operations, securities operations, and account reconciliation.

In this role, you will work with product owners, business partners, and technology leads to understand product and business requirements and translate them into application features and user stories. You will contribute to application development and business support while helping modernize existing applications, support transitions to new data centers and cloud environments, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Work is organized within an Agile/Scrum team, with assigned features and stories delivered in two-week increments.

This position is designed for an early-career technology professional who wants hands-on experience with enterprise application development, data and reporting tools, application modernization, and collaborative product delivery in a large financial services environment.

You will also participate in Wells Fargo's Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program, a two-year early-career development program that supports technical and professional growth through training, mentorship, career coaching, networking opportunities, and a cohort experience.

The CODE Program offers meaningful, real-world work combined with structured professional development, mentorship, and exposure to a broad range of technologies across the enterprise. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible for promotion and continued employment, subject to business needs and performance expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, test, enhance, and support Java-based applications, services, APIs, and data-driven solutions that enable CIB Operations business processes, address business needs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with product owners, business partners, technology leads, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, analyze problems, and help design and deliver technology solutions.
  • Work across multiple technologies, tools, and platforms while continuously learning new technical skills and expanding your engineering knowledge.
  • Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives, and iterative feature delivery.
  • Support application modernization, automation, cloud adoption, and technology transformation initiatives designed to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to software build, testing, deployment, and release activities utilizing modern engineering practices, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and production support activities to help maintain application stability and performance.
  • Create, maintain, and support reports, dashboards, data integrations, and other solutions that provide insights into business and operational processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, business partners, and stakeholders located across multiple locations and time zones to deliver technology solutions and project objectives.
  • Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate requirements, identify solutions, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools, where appropriate and approved, to support coding, testing, documentation, and overall engineering productivity.
  • Communicate technical concepts, project updates, risks, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Take ownership of assigned features, user stories, and development tasks while contributing to team goals and delivery commitments.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance application quality, automation, operational processes, and overall engineering effectiveness.
  • Participate in technical training, professional development opportunities, team activities, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen engineering capabilities and career growth.
  • Follow applicable engineering, security, risk, compliance, and change-management standards.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
