The posting

At Wells Fargo, we are looking for talented people who will put our customers at the center of everything we do. We are seeking candidates who embrace a workplace where everyone feels valued and inspired. Help us build a better Wells Fargo. It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you.

Wells Fargo’s Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) team is an integrated, forward-looking product organization with end-to-end payments, data, liquidity and associated lending solutions that enable our clients to achieve their business objectives in an evolving digital world.

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Business Accountability Specialist to join the Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) Exam & Initiatives Management Team.

Reporting to the Business Accountability Director, this senior individual contributor will lead complex regulatory examinations and interactions, drive the resolution of significant regulatory matters, and direct large-scale, cross-line-of-business initiatives. The role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and coordinate across business, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Financial Crimes, Operations, Product, and Technology partners to promote exam readiness, disciplined execution, transparent governance, and sustainable risk management.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end management of complex regulatory examinations, reviews, and other supervisory interactions, including readiness assessments, scope and request coordination, response development, meeting preparation, quality review, submission governance, and follow-up activities
  • Serve as a primary business advisor and coordination lead for interactions with regulators and internal Exam Management, ensuring communications and deliverables are accurate, timely, consistent, well-supported, and responsive to regulatory expectations
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex regulatory matters, findings, commitments, and emerging risks by translating requirements into clear action plans, governance routines, milestones, evidence standards, and sustainable outcomes
  • Direct large-scale, cross-line-of-business projects and strategic initiatives involving multiple products, functions, risk disciplines, and stakeholder groups; establish structure, clarify accountability, manage interdependencies, and drive execution through completion
  • Advise senior leadership on exam posture, regulatory themes, initiative health, execution risks, resource needs, key decisions, and escalation matters through concise, decision-ready reporting
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships across GPL and with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Financial Crimes, Operations, Product, Technology, and enterprise program teams to resolve issues and align on regulatory and business outcomes
  • Support the design and enhancement of exam management and initiative management frameworks, tools, templates, reporting, governance routines, and job aids that improve readiness, consistency, transparency, and auditability
  • Evaluate complex information from multiple sources, challenge assumptions, identify gaps and root causes, and develop practical solutions that balance regulatory obligations, risk appetite, customer impact, and business objectives
  • Monitor execution against commitments, identify emerging risks and dependencies, and ensure timely escalation and remediation of material concerns
  • Provide functional leadership, coaching, and subject matter expertise to workstream leads and project teams, fostering accountability, sound risk decisions, and continuous improvement without direct people-management responsibility
  • Represent the Exam & Initiatives Management Team in senior-level governance forums and lead high-priority response teams or ad hoc assignments as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in payments, liquidity, treasury management, transaction banking, or related financial services products and operations
  • Extensive experience leading regulatory examinations, supervisory interactions, and regulatory response activities within a large, complex financial institution
  • Demonstrated experience resolving significant regulatory matters, audit findings, issues, or remediation programs and producing evidence of sustainable outcomes
  • Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional or cross-line-of-business initiatives with complex dependencies, executive visibility, and firm deadlines
  • Strong understanding of financial services risk management, regulatory compliance, business controls, governance, and issue management practices
  • Prior experience partnering with executive leaders, executive level written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex matters clearly to senior leaders, regulators, and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, constructively challenge stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and drive accountability across organizational boundaries
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with attention to detail and a focus on practical execution
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, executive reporting, metrics, dashboards, procedures, templates, and other decision-support materials
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority matters concurrently while maintaining quality, transparency, and timely escalation
  • Experience working effectively with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Financial Crimes, Operations, Product, and Technology partners

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
