Summary: We are looking for a Senior/Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead the mechanical design, engineering, and deployment of custom turnkey automation systems for the semiconductor, PCB, and electronics manufacturing sectors.

In this role, you will take ownership of the full machine lifecycle—from concept generation and detailed 3D CAD modeling to shop-floor commissioning and supplier collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end mechanical design of customized factory automation, high-speed pick-and-place systems, and high-precision machinery.
  • Interface directly with Project Managers and clients to evaluate technical specifications and translate them into robust engineering solutions.
  • Select and calculate specifications for standard automation components, including servo drives, multi-axis actuators, pneumatics, sensors, optics, and 4/6-axis robotic arms.
  • Prepare complete engineering documentation, detail drawings with GD&T, and structured Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
  • Guide assembly technicians and fitters during mechanical build, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging phases.
  • Work closely with precision machining vendors, sheet metal fabricators, and component suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality fabrication.
  • Ensure machine designs comply with international safety, ergonomics, and performance standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, CE machine safety directives).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience designing customized automation equipment, jigs/fixtures, or material handling systems (experience in Semiconductor or PCB industry strongly preferred).
  • Highly proficient in SolidWorks 3D (modeling, drafting, assembly analysis) and SolidWorks PDM / EPDM.
  • Strong practical knowledge of pneumatic systems, mechanical motion components (linear guides, ball screws, direct drives), and electrical sensor integration.
  • Solid grounding in machine safety regulations, risk assessments, GD&T, and design for reliability/manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
  • Hands-on experience generating and managing machine BOMs in SAP is an advantage.
