Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded General Contractor throughout the Southeast, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Assistant. We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in our corporate office in Sanford, FL. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Maintenance Assistant works under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor and Manager to support the overall cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the facility. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain restrooms throughout the day, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies Clean and sanitize desks, countertops, doors, handles, floors, walkways, windows, and furniture Sweep and mop floors as needed Maintain stock of consumable supplies in kitchen, bathrooms, conference rooms and throughout office. Clean refrigerators as scheduled and maintain kitchen cleanliness, including countertops, seating, and appliances Post and hang materials provided by management (e.g., signage, posters, boards) Sweep entryways, dust as needed, and maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, including courtyards, parking lots, and yards Detail vehicles and equipment as directed Assist with errands, including picking up supplies or parts Support vehicle and equipment transport with other staff Assist with event setup and breakdown Help with furniture moves and workspace rearrangements Organize storage areas, including connex boxes and stored materials Assist with emergency building repairs and special projects, which may include climbing ladders, digging, and lifting heavy objects Perform minor facility repairs such as changing light bulbs and touch-up painting Provide general support to staff as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with management, staff, and visitors. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions accurately and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and other manual tasks. Willingness and ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions. Ability to remain physically active throughout the workday. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
