The posting

Who we are:

White Stuff was established in 1985 through a simple idea. This idea grew and now we have shops and concessions in the UK and internationally, selling women’s and men’s clothing as well as beautiful accessories and homeware. Our original prints (all designed in house), intricate details and considered design touches reflect our personality and make us subtly distinctive.

Our people are at the heart of our brand, constantly moving and driving us forward. We’re sociable, talented and like-minded and we’re not hierarchical or political in how we do business. We encourage entrepreneurial ideas and accountability at all levels.

Primary objective of the job:

The Ecommerce Trading Assistant makes sure every new line goes live correctly and on time, and helps build, merchandise and maintain the site so product information, content and assets are always accurate. Working closely with the Ecommerce Trading team and the Product Publishing, Creative and Digital Marketing teams, the role supports delivery of the trading calendar and a great customer experience. It is a hands-on role and a great first step into ecommerce trading.

Who you are:

  • A sharp eye for detail – you notice when something isn’t quite right and get satisfaction from fixing it.
  • A team player who is happy to coordinate with other teams to ensure the task is resolved.
  • Proactive and adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Keen to learn and grow your career in ecommerce trading.

What you’ll be doing:

Product launches & site checks

  • Check that every new product line goes live correctly – product copy, imagery, pricing, sizes, colourways and categories.
  • Track launch dates against the trading calendar and flag any lines that are late, missing or incomplete.
  • Work with the Product Publishing, Creative and Merchandising teams to fix errors quickly, before and after launch.
  • Carry out regular site checks to spot and report broken links, out-of-stock products, incorrect information or poor imagery.
  • Help test the staging site and check promotions before they go live.
  • Check MD pricing has been uploaded and scheduled correctly for Sale launch.
  • Help with on-site checks ahead of key launches and promotions, occasionally outside standard hours, with time off in lieu given in return.

Site builds & assets

  • Upload, organise and manage site assets so the right imagery is ready for each update.
  • Build homepage, landing page and category page content to agreed briefs.
  • Support seasonal site transitions with content loading and category re-mapping.
  • Flag imagery issues to the imagery team.

Merchandising

  • Merchandise product categories in line with trading priorities, stock levels and new launches.
  • Update and manage hotspots across the site.
  • Review site navigation and taxonomy, and suggest improvements to help customers find products more easily.
  • Maintain product review groupings.

Email & CRM

  • Check stock availability for products featured in CRM emails and flag any low-stock or out-of-stock lines before send.
  • Check product links and content in emails before approval.

Team & ad-hoc

  • Keep launch and issue trackers up to date so the team always knows what is live and what needs fixing.
  • Support the rest of the Ecommerce team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.

What you’ll need:

  • Some experience in an ecommerce, retail, content or admin role – or a strong interest in starting a career in ecommerce
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and formulas, to manage product data and trackers.
  • An interest in fashion, lifestyle or retail and how customers shop online
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with different teams
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Willingness to learn, take on feedback and grow within the trading team

What we will offer you:

As an Ecommerce Trading Assistant at White Stuff, you will be entitled to an array of great benefits, some of which include:

• Hybrid working - 3 days in the office

• Annual bonus opportunity

• 25 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays

• 2 extra (paid!) days off per year to volunteer in the local community

• 50% discount

• Subsidised BUPA Dental Insurance

• Healthcare cash plan and Life Assurance

• Interest free season ticket loan

• Pension Contribution

We are committed to creating an environment where we can all be proud to work and be ourselves. Part of this commitment is being an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, and age.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
