Whitestone Associates, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned Geotechnical and Environmental consulting firm with offices throughout the eastern United States. This is a fully in-office, on-site position.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring invoices are accurately coded, entered, and routed for approval;
  • Process vendor payments accurately and in accordance with established payment schedules;
  • Manage vendor setup and maintenance, including obtaining and maintaining required documentation such as Certificates of Insurance, W-9s, and subcontractor agreements;
  • Review and process employee expense reports and company credit card statements, including verification of supporting documentation and appropriate accounting treatment;
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions, vendor statements, and related accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed;
  • Coordinate with employees, project managers, and vendors to resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies and respond to related inquiries;
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation; and
  • Assist the Finance team with additional accounting activities and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred;
  • Recent graduates and candidates beginning their accounting careers are encouraged to apply;
  • Previous accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related internship experience is a plus, but not required;
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook; and
  • Experience within the AEC industry or a related professional services industry is a plus, but not required.

Higher compensation than the amount listed below may be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Salary Range

$60,000—$65,000 USD
