WHOOP is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II with a focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) to help bring innovative hardware products from prototype development through production ramp. In this role, you will partner closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, and our manufacturing partners to develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes that deliver high-quality products efficiently and at scale. You will combine strong technical fundamentals with a hands-on approach to solving manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and ensuring manufacturing readiness throughout the product development lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Drive manufacturing technical readiness for new product introductions through process development and optimization, manufacturing documentation, process validation, and fixture qualification

- Partner with factory teams and cross-functional engineering partners to design, develop, and qualify manufacturing fixtures, equipment, and processes, using data-driven approaches to identify opportunities for effective automation

- Develop and validate manufacturing processes that meet product specifications, establishing appropriate process controls to ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and reliability

- Apply DFX and Lean Six Sigma principles to improve product manufacturability, quality, cycle time, efficiency, and cost throughout development and production

- Lead structured problem-solving efforts, including DOEs, failure analysis, DMAIC, and 8D methodologies, to identify root causes of manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions

- Drive cross-functional execution through rapid development and production ramp cycles, clearly communicating manufacturing risks, development progress, issue resolution, and project status to internal and external partners

- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience

- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering or related experience supporting moderate- to high-volume production environments

- Hands-on experience developing, qualifying, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes on the factory floor

- Experience with manufacturing processes for small electronic products, such as adhesives, heat staking, automated assembly, or manual assembly

- Working knowledge of injection-molded plastic part principles, common defect modes, process qualification, and GD&T principles

- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and applying sound engineering principles to fixture or manufacturing equipment design

- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines and with external manufacturing partners in CM/JDM environments; willingness to travel up to 25% as needed

- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
