The posting

We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and clinically skilled Medical Assistant to join our busy Family Medicine/Internal Medicine practice.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining patient safety and providing exceptional patient care.

We are looking for a team member who takes initiative, accepts feedback constructively, demonstrates accountability, and can work both independently and collaboratively with providers and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Independently and accurately room patients, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing chief complaints, and preparing patients for provider examinations.
  • Review and update medications, allergies, medical history, surgical history, and other relevant patient information.
  • Complete required patient screenings, including depression screenings (PHQ-2/PHQ-9), fall-risk assessments, and other age-appropriate screenings according to established protocols.
  • Recognize abnormal vital signs and promptly communicate concerning findings to the appropriate licensed clinical staff or provider.
  • Perform EKGs, pulse oximetry, injections, medication administration, and other clinical procedures within the Medical Assistant's authorized scope and organizational policies.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient care needs.
  • Identify preventive care opportunities and assist with appropriate screening orders and referrals as directed by providers and established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

Clinical Communication & Workflow

  • Manage electronic clinical messages, prescription refill requests, patient communications, and assigned nursing/clinical inbox tasks according to established protocols and under appropriate supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Recognize urgent clinical concerns and escalate them appropriately.
  • Follow through on assigned tasks and ensure requests are completed or appropriately handed off.
  • Demonstrate strong time-management and organizational skills while supporting multiple providers and competing priorities.
  • Maintain examination rooms, clinical supplies, equipment, and infection-control standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program or equivalent qualifications accepted by the organization.
  • Previous clinical experience in a physician office or outpatient setting preferred; Family Medicine or Internal Medicine experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in obtaining accurate vital signs, medication reconciliation, patient rooming, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Experience using electronic health records and managing clinical workflows.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, common medications, preventive screenings, and clinical safety practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

What We're Looking For

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Clinical competency: Possesses a strong foundation in Medical Assistant responsibilities and consistently performs clinical tasks accurately and safely.
  • Initiative: Anticipates practice and provider needs without requiring constant direction.
  • Critical thinking: Recognizes abnormal findings, understands when clarification is necessary, and knows when to escalate concerns.
  • Accountability: Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and follows through to completion.
  • Adaptability: Adjusts to changing schedules, patient needs, and clinical priorities.
  • Coachability: Welcomes constructive feedback, applies training, and demonstrates continuous improvement.
  • Attention to detail: Maintains accuracy in patient documentation, screenings, medication reconciliation, and clinical procedures.
  • Teamwork: Supports colleagues and contributes to a positive, respectful, and patient-centered work environment.
  • Independence: Demonstrates the ability to manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision after appropriate orientation and competency validation.

Our Expectations

Our practice is committed to providing appropriate orientation, training, and ongoing support. Candidates should bring a solid foundation of clinical skills and demonstrate the ability to learn new workflows, retain information, and apply feedback consistently.

This position is best suited for an individual who enjoys a busy clinical environment, takes pride in providing quality patient care, and is motivated to contribute to a high-performing healthcare team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
