This position is intended for an early-career engineer who can complete routine bridge and structural assignments with increasing independence while receiving oversight from licensed professional engineers. Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform basic bridge and structural analyses, design calculations, and detailing with guidance from a licensed professional engineer.
  • Prepare defined portions of structural plans, details, quantities, specifications, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Perform load-rating analyses for new and existing bridges using applicable standards and established procedures.
  • Apply applicable design standards, office procedures, and quality-control requirements to assigned work.
  • Coordinate assigned tasks with engineers, technicians, and other disciplines under the guidance of senior staff.

  • Perform self-checks, address review comments, and maintain organized calculation and design files.
  • Communicate task status, technical questions, and emerging issues with team.
  • Assist newer staff and interns with routine project procedures and plan-production practices, as appropriate.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination and Engineer Intern certification, or the ability to obtain them within six months of hire.
  • 2-4+ years of bridge, structural, or related civil engineering experience.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations, plans, details, quantities, and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Preferred experience with CAD software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
  • Preferred experience with highway or railroad bridges, retaining walls, drainage structures, or other transportation structures. Familiarity with AASHTO, AREMA, or owner-specific design requirements

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
