Qualifications

High school diploma or vocational school graduate

Ability to type with reasonable accuracy within a minimum of 45-50 words per minute

Minimum of one year of experience in a general clerical experience

Bilingual in Navajo and English preferred

Computer and general office skills needed

Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Other qualifications as the Governing Board may deem appropriate

Job Goal

To perform specialized clerical work in the coding, recoding and maintenance of attendance records and to perform related duties as may be assigned.

Essential Duties

Maintains student attendance and other related records through computerized system; complies relevant information as needed.

Prepares student-related reports for the principal’s and District’s use, including attendance summaries, enrollment reports and census counts.

Answer phone or personal inquires from parents.

Provides information related to school attendance policies and procedures.

Secures requested information; keeps records of materials that are removed; traces missing records.

Clears files at designated intervals under a supervisor’s direction.

Assists school registrar as directed by the building principal.

Handles registration and withdrawal of students and monitors teacher attendance.

Completes various attendance reports as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.
