The Opportunity Reporting to the Wolf Pipeline Supervisor, South Operations and taking direction from the Wolf Pipeline South Maintenance Lead, this position will perform journeyperson level work related to the installation, operation, maintenance, and modifications of electrical and instrumentation equipment associated to the Wolf Pipeline System. The E/I position will effectively support growth and expansion to ensure corporate assets are operated and maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable legislation, while supporting Wolf’s defining behaviours. This position is based at Wolf’s Sturgeon Terminal outside Fort Saskatchewan in Sturgeon County, AB. Key Responsibilities Perform field-based electrical and instrumentation maintenance:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with Wolf’s electrical safety, isolation, and safe work requirements Troubleshoot and maintain low and medium voltage equipment, including VFDs, motors, motor control centres, switchgear, UPS, and protection systems Inspect, calibrate, and troubleshoot pressure, temperature, level, and flow instrumentation, including associated measurement and control loops Diagnose and maintain motor-operated valves, control valves, actuators, and positioners. Support construction projects and equipment upgrades through design reviews, HAZOPs, commissioning, and startup Work with Operations and Engineering to identify and implement improvements Develop, review, and execute maintenance procedures Participate in equipment-specific training to maintain and develop technical skills
Additional Responsibilities:
Mentor personnel and share technical knowledge and safe work practices Assist Operations and Maintenance with outages, isolations, and safe return to service Supervise 3rd party contractors when required Maintenance PM/Calibration record management Support MOCs, drawing updates, and maintenance documentation Participate in emergency response training and activities
Qualifications and Experience Education:
Journeyperson Electrician certification, with preference given to candidates who also hold Journeyperson certification as an Instrument Technician
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of oil and gas maintenance experience; pipeline, pump station, or terminal experience preferred Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as Hexagon, Maximo, or equivalent Excellent Safety record and related training Strong troubleshooting experience across electrical, instrumentation, and control systems Experience working independently, prioritizing tasks, and following work through to completion
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and instrument loop drawings Proficiency with test equipment, calibrators, and diagnostic software Sound technical judgment and hazard awareness in operating facilities Superior computer skills Ability to travel to operating sites, work away from home when required, and participate in the on-call rotation Valid Class 5 Drivers License and abstract
