Kijk jij naar een doos, folie of verpakking en zie je meteen hoe het slimmer, goedkoper of duurzamer kan? Voor een snelgroeiende internationale productieonderneming in de hygiëne-industrie, met hoofdzetel in de regio Waasland, zoeken we een Packaging Development Engineer die techniek, projectwerk en duurzaamheid samenbrengt.

Je krijgt een brede en zichtbare rol: je analyseert bestaande verpakkingen, gaat op zoek naar nieuwe materialen en oplossingen en trekt verbeterprojecten van A tot Z. Je werkt samen met productiesites en leveranciers in verschillende landen en krijgt veel autonomie om de verpakkingen van morgen mee vorm te geven.

Wat Ga Je Doen?

  • Je analyseert en optimaliseert bestaande verpakkingen op kwaliteit, kostprijs, duurzaamheid en produceerbaarheid.
  • Je onderzoekt nieuwe materialen en duurzame alternatieven en beoordeelt wat technisch en economisch haalbaar is.
  • Je trekt packagingprojecten van A tot Z en bewaakt timing, kwaliteit en implementatie.
  • Je beoordeelt technische tekeningen, specificaties en materiaalkeuzes en ziet concrete verbeterkansen.
  • Je vertaalt nieuwe wetgeving en duurzaamheidseisen naar werkbare oplossingen.
  • Je bent het technische aanspreekpunt voor engineering, productie, aankoop, kwaliteit en de commerciële teams.
  • Je werkt nauw samen met leveranciers rond nieuwe materialen, testen en optimalisaties.
  • Je bezoekt regelmatig productiesites in het buitenland om implementaties mee op te volgen.

Wie Ben Je?

  • Je hebt een bachelor of master in een technische richting, productontwikkeling, industrieel ontwerp of verpakkingstechnologie, of je bent gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
  • Je hebt 4 à 5 jaar ervaring in packaging, productontwikkeling of een technische projectomgeving. Praktijkervaring met verpakkingen weegt zwaarder dan je diploma.
  • Je kent verschillende verpakkingsmaterialen zoals karton, papier, kunststoffen en folies.
  • Je leest technische tekeningen en specificaties en beoordeelt verpakkingsconstructies inhoudelijk.
  • Je combineert techniek met inzicht in kostprijs, duurzaamheid en productie-efficiëntie.
  • Je beheert zelfstandig meerdere projecten en krijgt stakeholders makkelijk mee in je voorstellen.
  • Je bent analytisch en nauwkeurig, maar ook pragmatisch en oplossingsgericht.
  • Je spreekt vlot Engels en reist graag, ongeveer één keer per twee à drie weken.
