The posting

As a senior leader in the Supply Chain organization reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the VP - Supply Chain Fulfillment owns the planning and buying engine that keeps 140 branches and distribution locations stocked to meet customer demand. In this position, you are accountable for both strategy and execution of inventory planning; purchasing, purchasing support; returns management and asset recovery and supply chain analytics. You will be responsible for optimally balancing customer service, total cost, and working capital.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The VP - Supply Chain Fulfillment’s primary responsibility is to develop the strategy, capabilities, and initiatives that ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time and at the right cost. You are responsible for the planning, inventory, purchasing, returns, and analytics processes and enablers needed to meet customer expectations, and will drive the organizational change required to position the company for future growth and improved financial results.

Strategy & Vision

  • Partner with senior leadership in long- and short-range planning, and develop a fulfillment strategy that is integral to, and aligned with, the company’s growth and performance expectations.
  • Identify emerging supply chain practices and enhance existing processes to strengthen the company’s competitive advantage.
  • Apply a deep understanding of supply chain to advise leadership on market conditions, industry trends, and emerging supply options that influence company strategy.

Performance Excellence

  • Achieve objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and key performance indicators; allocating resources; reviewing progress; and making corrections.
  • Continually identify, develop, and execute opportunities for cost savings, working capital efficiency, cash flow management, and operational improvement while maintaining appropriate inventory availability and customer service levels (e.g., fill rates and orders shipped complete).

Supply Chain Fulfillment Network Design

  • Define and implement an optimal network and inventory positioning model that improves reliability, flexibility, speed, and cost while meeting operational business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain network scenario models that weigh customer requirements, long-term strategy and geographic growth priorities, fulfillment capabilities, DC and branch space, supplier lead times, transit times, and end-to-end cost and working capital impact. Partner with Logistics, Warehousing, and Category Management to translate the models into network and inventory positioning decisions.

Capability Transformation

  • Identify, prioritize, and deliver initiatives that strengthen supply chain capabilities (process standardization, organization design, talent, and technology), sized appropriately for the business and tied to measurable financial and service outcomes.
  • Partner with IT and the CSCO to define the planning, purchasing, and analytics technology roadmap and ensure adoption.

Supply Chain Partner Development

  • Partner with Category Management to execute supplier programs that improve fill rates, lead-time reliability, cost, and returns terms.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier performance through scorecards (inventory availability, on-time delivery, lead-time variability, returns and non-productive inventory), and escalate issues and opportunities to Category Management for commercial resolution.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement across planning, purchasing, inventory, returns, and analytics processes, using tools such as; Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, A3, Plan-Do-Check-Act, and root-cause methods.
  • Build a culture of operational excellence with clear metrics, standard work, and accountability for sustained results.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
