Employment Period: 27 November – 24 December 2026 Position: Relief Cleaner Work Location: Preschool, Singapore

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable, cheerful and physically fit Relief Cleaner to support the daily cleaning, hygiene and general upkeep of our preschool. The successful candidate should enjoy being around young children and be comfortable assisting with basic snack preparation and meal heating duties.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Clean and sanitise classrooms, common areas, corridors, toilets and other designated areas.
  • Sweep, mop and vacuum floors regularly.
  • Wipe down tables, chairs, shelves, doors, windows and frequently touched surfaces.
  • Ensure classrooms and play areas are kept clean, hygienic and safe for children.
  • Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Assist with cleaning up after children's activities, meals and spills.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and tidiness of the preschool premises.

2. Kitchen Cleaning and Food Preparation

  • Assist with preparing and serving children's daily snacks.
  • Heat up pre-prepared meals according to the preschool's instructions and food safety procedures.
  • Assist with basic food preparation, portioning and serving.
  • Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, trays and food preparation equipment.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen, pantry, countertops, sinks, appliances and dining areas.
  • Ensure food preparation and storage areas are kept clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Practise proper food handling, storage and hygiene procedures.
  • Ensure kitchen waste is disposed of promptly and appropriately.

3. General Support

  • Assist teachers and preschool staff with ad-hoc cleaning and housekeeping duties when required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and pleasant environment for children, staff and visitors.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by the Centre Principal or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Dependable, responsible, physically fit and cheerful.
  • Must enjoy being around young children and have a warm, patient and positive attitude.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Able to follow instructions and maintain good standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Must possess a valid Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate recognised for the relevant food-handling duties in Singapore.
  • Must have up-to-date preschool health clearance and meet the applicable health requirements for working in a preschool.
  • Candidates without the required certification or health clearance must be willing to obtain them at their own cost before commencing work.
  • Prior experience in preschool cleaning and kitchen assistance aid is compulsory.
