Sr. Firmware Engineer (Failure Analysis / RMA)

Un ingeniero de firmware embebido de nivel senior especializado en el análisis, diagnóstico y resolución de fallas en software y firmware de sistemas electrónicos automotrices.

¿Qué es?

Es un profesional responsable de investigar problemas reportados en ECUs automotrices, identificar la causa raíz de fallas relacionadas con firmware o software embebido y contribuir a la mejora de la confiabilidad del producto. Trabaja sobre sistemas que ya se encuentran en operación, analizando incidencias provenientes de vehículos en campo o de unidades retornadas por garantía (RMA).

¿Cómo lo hace?

Utiliza herramientas de depuración, análisis de logs, revisión de código y diagnóstico de software para investigar comportamientos anómalos en las ECUs. Analiza trazas de ejecución, eventos del sistema, memoria, comunicaciones vehiculares y versiones de firmware para determinar el origen de una falla. Además, reproduce problemas en laboratorio, valida hipótesis técnicas, colabora con equipos de hardware y sistemas, y desarrolla análisis de causa raíz (RCA) junto con recomendaciones correctivas y preventivas (CAPA).

¿Dónde aplica este conocimiento?

Su trabajo es fundamental en proyectos de automoción donde se requiere garantizar la estabilidad y confiabilidad de Zonal ECUs, Gateways, Body Controllers, sistemas ADAS, plataformas de conectividad y otros módulos electrónicos que dependen de firmware embebido para operar correctamente. También participa en la mejora continua de productos mediante la identificación de problemas sistémicos y la definición de acciones para evitar recurrencias.

Requirements

Habilidades técnicas obligatorias

Programación en C/C++ para sistemas embebidos, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Desarrollo y depuración de Firmware Embebido, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Root Cause Analysis (RCA), nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Análisis de fallas de software y firmware (Failure Analysis), nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Debugging de sistemas embebidos, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Análisis de logs, traces y archivos de diagnóstico, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Arquitectura de ECUs automotrices, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Protocolos de comunicación automotriz (CAN, CAN FD, LIN), nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Integración Hardware-Software, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Sistemas Operativos en Tiempo Real (RTOS), nivel intermedio a avanzado (3-5+ años).

Reproducción de fallas en laboratorio y validación de hipótesis, nivel avanzado (+5 años).

Gestión de memoria Flash, Bootloaders y actualización de firmware, nivel intermedio a avanzado (3-5+ años).

Documentación técnica y elaboración de reportes de análisis, nivel avanzado (+5 años).
