As an Account Executive, you will play a key role in driving growth through account management, business development, campaign support, and stakeholder engagement.

Working closely with senior leaders, sales teams, marketing, and customers, you'll help identify opportunities to expand services, support tender submissions, and develop strong customer relationships. You'll gain exposure to the democratic services sector and have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of elections and democratic processes across the country.

If you're commercially minded, enjoy building relationships, and have the drive and determination to help grow a successful business, this role offers excellent opportunities to develop your sales and account management career within a market-leading GovTech organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of account management strategies to achieve sales and growth targets across CES

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services

• Research accounts, identify key stakeholders, and generate new business opportunities

• Support targeted sales and marketing campaigns, including lead nurturing, follow-up activity, and performance reporting

• Prepare quotations, proposals, information packs, and tender responses in line with Civica commercial policies

• Coordinate tender and proposal activity from initial draft through to successful submission

• Maintain accurate records within Salesforce and other sales platforms, ensuring opportunities and customer activity are tracked effectively

• Gather and communicate customer feedback to support product development and service improvements

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments, providing market intelligence to the wider business

• Arrange and coordinate customer meetings, account visits, and follow-up actions

• Attend customer events, exhibitions, and conferences as required

• Support customer satisfaction initiatives, including Net Promoter Score surveys

• Collaborate closely with operational, support, marketing, and leadership teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes

• Support quality assurance activities during election delivery periods and unscheduled elections

• Leverage tools such as Copilot, Salesforce, Highspot, and Slack to improve efficiency and drive sales performance

Requirements

• Previous experience in account management, sales support, business development, customer success, or a similar customer-facing role

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence presenting information to customers and colleagues

• Commercially aware with a passion for delivering excellent customer service

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to changing situations

• Experience producing quotations, proposals, tenders, or sales documentation would be advantageous

• Comfortable using CRM platforms and sales enablement tools

• Proactive, committed, hard-working, and tenacious approach to achieving results

• Strong research skills with an interest in market trends, customer challenges, and industry developments

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Experience working within Local Government or the wider public sector would be beneficial

• Interest in politics, governance, democracy, or digital technology would be advantageous

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
