This is a hands-on transactional accounting role with primary responsibility for accounts payable, payroll processing, purchase orders, account reconciliations, financial transaction processing, and financial record maintenance.

The successful candidate will have practical experience performing accounting transactions—not simply providing administrative support to an accounting department. Hands-on QuickBooks Desktop experience is required, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to accurately process, reconcile, research, and maintain financial information in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position located at Stanbridge University’s Irvine, California campus.

Essential Functions:

  • Process bi-monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Perform accounts payable functions, including reviewing invoices, processing payments, and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
  • Record accounting transactions, including AP, AR, and general ledger entries.
  • Perform bank, account, and financial-record reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Use QuickBooks Desktop to enter, maintain, retrieve, and report financial information.
  • Use Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions, formulas, and reconciliation tools, to organize and analyze financial data.
  • Communicate with vendors, employees, and departments to resolve invoice, payment, payroll, and account discrepancies.
  • Support financial reporting, audit preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance documentation as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll, employee, institutional, and financial information.
  • Perform additional accounting support and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on transactional accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience processing accounts payable.
  • Demonstrated experience performing bank and/or account reconciliations.
  • Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookup functions, and PivotTables.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and general accounting processes.
  • Strong numerical aptitude, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strongly Preferred
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience.
  • Purchase order processing experience.
  • General ledger/journal entry experience.
  • Audit preparation or accounting compliance support.
  • Associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.

Compensation:

$24.00–$26.00 per hour. Compensation is based on education, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Employment verification will be conducted to validate work experience per accreditation standards.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • Official transcripts are required prior to hire. Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service to determine U.S. degree equivalency and applicable subject-area coursework.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
