We know our journey is only achievable by having a great team who shares ideas, tries new things, and learns as we go.

Who you are:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the month end processing and consolidating reporting of the organization.

Support Financial Controller in preparation and review of financial statements, management reports and supporting analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Monthly Close Process: Coordinate and support the monthly and year-end close processes to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient completion. Prepare and review journals, reconciliations, analytics, schedules, and working papers supporting financial results. Monitor close deliverables, identify bottlenecks, and work with cross-functional Finance teams to resolve issues and maintain reporting timelines.
  • Financial Analysis: Preparation and review of month-end and year-end working papers, including Balance Sheet reconciliation reconciliation reports and functional/departmental analysis reports.
  • Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate the year-end audit effort, including close collaboration with external auditors, and assist with the production of year end statutory accounts. Review and maintain Transfer Pricing policies.
  • Accounting Team Support & Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to accounting team members, including assistance with complex reconciliations, accounting issues, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Identify accounting issues and improvements as they occur and recommend solutions including automation and integration of business tools and documentation of policies and procedures.

Requirements

We want you to succeed, so you will need:

  • 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience with companies with multiple subsidiaries in different jurisdictions
  • Experience leading and managing the month end process and preparing financial reports
  • A resilient, flexible, solution oriented approach to addressing areas of improvement, likes digging into issues and enjoys taking leadership in addressing problems

  • Qualified CPA

Nice to have:

  • Experience of identifying and implementing improvements that drive efficiencies and business performance
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite

Salary range: $115,000 to $123,000 per year

We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.

This is a temporary, full-time role covering a leave of absence through November 2027.

Benefits

Why this is the opportunity for you:

  • Purposeful Work: Make a global impact by advancing sustainable food production.
  • Our People: Work with a fun, collaborative, and supportive team.
  • Recharge: Generous vacation policy, company-paid holidays and year-end winter break.
  • Work Flexibility: Hybrid working arrangements and strong work-life balance culture.

  • Group RRSP, which includes a 3% company paid match after three months of employment

At Semios Group, we value the full range of experience and perspectives people bring—not just what’s listed in a job description. If your background is a close match, we encourage you to apply. If you need accommodations during the interview process, please let us know.

We welcome all applicants regardless of race, gender, orientation, sexual identity, economic class, ability, disability, age, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, or status. We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
