WSU Tech is seeking an ACE Program Outreach and Training Assistant to support the College’s America’s Cutting Edge (ACE) CNC machining training program. This position combines technical training, industry outreach, workforce development, and educational engagement to promote machining careers and expand advanced manufacturing opportunities.

The ACE Program Outreach and Training Assistant will serve as an ACE Training Instructor, providing CNC machining and metrology instruction while supporting training opportunities for high school and middle school students, industry professionals, public training participants, and other educational institutions within WSU Tech’s designated hub of influence. The position will also help build relationships with industry partners, develop collaborative initiatives, and promote careers and workforce opportunities that are critical to U.S. manufacturing and defense.

Salary: $58,926.40 annually

WSU Tech is seeking an ACE Program Outreach and Training Assistant to support the College’s America’s Cutting Edge (ACE) CNC machining training program. This position combines technical training, industry outreach, workforce development, and educational engagement to promote machining careers and expand advanced manufacturing opportunities.

The ACE Program Outreach and Training Assistant will serve as an ACE Training Instructor, providing CNC machining and metrology instruction while supporting training opportunities for high school and middle school students, industry professionals, public training participants, and other educational institutions within WSU Tech’s designated hub of influence. The position will also help build relationships with industry partners, develop collaborative initiatives, and promote careers and workforce opportunities that are critical to U.S. manufacturing and defense.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as an ACE Training Instructor for WSU Tech’s ACE CNC machining training program supported by the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • Provide ACE CNC and Metrology instruction and support future areas of ACE training.
  • Deliver and support training for K-12 students, industry professionals, public training participants, and other educational institutions.
  • Promote machining careers and ACE-related employment opportunities critical to U.S. manufacturing and defense.
  • Support instruction and workforce development related to CNC machining, CAM, machining dynamics, and cost analysis.
  • Support ACE-related K-12 activities, outreach, and promotional events.
  • Develop relationships with industry partners and support collaborative workforce initiatives.
  • Participate in required professional development activities.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as College policies and procedures.
  • Operate job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required.
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to support the department and College.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in machining, industry outreach, business development, or workforce development, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Ability to teach CNC Machining and Metrology and support future ACE program growth.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, processes, and workforce needs, including areas such as additive manufacturing, precision measuring, and quality control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Previous outreach, program development, or business development experience preferred.
  • Must obtain ACE Train the Trainer certification within the first three months of employment.
  • NC3 Precision Measuring certification preferred.
