The posting

Amazing Athletes is seeking a Site Coordinator to oversee our afterschool programs at SAM School’s two Manhattan locations. You’ll be based at SAM Nursery on 74th Street Monday through Thursday and will also oversee the program at SAM Elementary on 96th Street with the support of an on-site Assistant Site Coordinator.

This role combines hands-on program leadership with family communication, staff support, and administrative work. You’ll make sure students are accounted for, classes are prepared, dismissal runs smoothly, and both locations provide a safe and welcoming experience.

Responsibilities

Daily program operations

  • Arrive before programming to prepare staff, spaces, materials, and student rosters.
  • Oversee student arrival, attendance, transitions, and dismissal at SAM Nursery.
  • Ensure every child is accounted for and released according to program procedures.
  • Confirm that program spaces are cleaned up and left in excellent condition at the end of each day.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Site Coordinator at SAM Elementary to monitor attendance, classes, student needs, and dismissal at that location.
  • Arrange staff coverage and address day-to-day operational issues at both sites.

Communication and family support

  • Serve as the primary contact for families, SAM School staff, and program instructors.
  • Respond to emails and parent questions in a timely manner.
  • Write and send a monthly newsletter covering both SAM locations.
  • Communicate incidents and significant concerns to the operations team.
  • Help families with enrollment questions and coordinate changes with the appropriate team members.

Staff leadership and planning

  • Supervise and support instructors and the Assistant Site Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate rosters, attendance records, dismissal information, and student notes.
  • Help plan upcoming classes, staffing, supplies, and special events.
  • Support staff hiring and onboarding in coordination with the operations team.

Schedule

15 paid hours per week, Monday through Thursday. SAM School’s afterschool program does not run on Fridays.

  • On-site at SAM Nursery: Monday–Thursday, approximately 2:30–4:30 PM. The afterschool program runs from 3:00–4:00 PM; the additional time allows for setup, dismissal, and closing the space.
  • Administrative and coordination work: Approximately 7 additional hours per week for emails, the monthly newsletter, planning, staff coordination, and other responsibilities that require timely follow-up.

The Site Coordinator oversees SAM Elementary through regular communication with its on-site Assistant Site Coordinator.

Locations

  • Primary on-site location — SAM Nursery: 148 E 74th St, New York, NY 10021
  • Additional program oversight — SAM Elementary: 7 E 96th St, New York, NY 10128

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an afterschool program, school, camp, childcare, or similar setting.
  • Experience leading staff or coordinating a program.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage student attendance and dismissal with care and accuracy.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce a clear monthly family newsletter.
  • Reliable availability on-site Monday through Thursday from approximately 2:30–4:30 PM.

Benefits

15 paid hours per week at $40/hr.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
