The posting

As a Junior Digital PR Associate, you’ll work at the intersection of SEO, PR, brand storytelling, and emerging AI-powered tools. You’ll help promote impactful content that connects with audiences, using data and search insights to support smart, effective execution.

You’ll build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry experts to help amplify our content and grow brand visibility. You’ll support the promotion process, including campaign ideation, outreach, distribution, and performance analysis, learning to optimize campaigns based on real-time insights.

A successful Junior Digital PR Associate is curious, detail-oriented, and excited to learn the fundamentals of SEO and digital PR. You’re a strong writer with a knack for telling compelling stories from data, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and eager to explore how tools like AI can support research, ideation, and outreach.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who’s eager to learn by doing. From day one, you’ll contribute to meaningful campaigns while receiving the guidance, feedback, and training needed to grow your skills and confidence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support media interview preparation for TV, radio, and digital outlets, including briefing materials, talking points, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitor activity and flag relevant trends, media moments, and industry opportunities for the broader team.
  • Collaborate across teams to brainstorm creative content ideas and support initiatives that grow ConsumerAffairs’ authority and visibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience in digital PR, media relations, content marketing, SEO, or a related area is a plus. Internships, academic projects, freelance work, or relevant coursework are all welcome.
  • Foundational understanding of SEO principles, including how content, backlinks, and authority contribute to organic growth.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with a creative approach to crafting compelling pitches and campaign messaging.
  • Able to self-edit for spelling, grammar, clarity, and accuracy before submitting work.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with data at a basic level and interested in learning how to measure and report on campaign performance.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and open to feedback, with a strong desire to grow in a digital PR role.

Technical Skills

  • Exposure to media outreach or PR tools such as Muck Rack, BuzzStream, Prowly, or Cision through internships, projects, or training.

  • Familiarity with AP Style and the ability to write accurate, polished copy for outreach.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
