About the Company

Edelweiss Software Group acquires established vertical market software companies and supports them with a long-term, stewardship-oriented model. Our approach blends disciplined investment with operational guidance, enabling leadership teams to deliver durable performance and growth over time.

Edelweiss is backed by the permanent capital of our parent company Valsoft Corporation and operates with a buy-and-hold thesis. This provides us the flexibility to invest patiently, and the commitment to partner with businesses for the decades ahead while providing strong expertise from operating 140+ software companies globally.

As the portfolio grows, we continue to search for best-in-class talent that will help us scale further. We are seeking ambitious people who are entrepreneurial and willing to grow with our portfolio as it evolves.

About the Role

As an M&A Analyst, you will play a crucial part of our investment team with a full view of the M&A lifecycle from deal origination to investment rationalizing and analysis, all the way to ownership and portfolio operations and strategy.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying companies that meet the Edelweiss investment criteria and developing/maintaining relationships with founders
  • Conducting financial modeling, valuation and scenario analysis to support or disprove investment theses, including the preparing materials for investment committee and senior leadership review
  • Performing financial, commercial and operational due diligence on target companies
  • Identifying value creation initiatives and support setting portfolio company strategy and objectives
  • Managing cross-functional teams in post-acquisition integrations

This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional to hone their investment expertise, while also providing exposure to driving operational improvements and value creation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, management consulting, or a related role (experience in the software industry is a plus, but not required)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or Science, with a strong academic background and involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Solid financial acumen, including proficiency in financial analysis and valuation
  • Strong attention to detail, with good time management and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
