Role: Healthcare Assistant

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our teams across our sites in Upper Hutt. You'll be considered for multiple current and upcoming opportunities across our villages in the region. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time or casual work, we'd love to hear from you. What you’ll be doing:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support residents to live with comfort, dignity, and independence, delivering care that is respectful, safe, and genuinely person-centred. You’ll focus on building trusting relationships and creating a calm, supportive environment where residents feel listened to, valued, and cared for.

You will:

  • Provide personal care in a way that maintains dignity, privacy, and comfort
  • Support residents with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration
  • Observe and respond to residents’ physical and emotional needs, escalating concerns appropriately
  • Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families/whānau
  • Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that promotes wellbeing and independence
  • Follow individual care plans and work closely with Registered Nurses to ensure consistent, high-quality care
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, and your wider team
  • Take responsibility for health, safety, and infection control practices to keep everyone safe

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Caregiver or similar care role.
  • A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to caring for older adults
  • Clear communication skills and a strong team-focused mindset
  • A commitment to safety, dignity, and resident-centred care
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, that may include weekends and night shifts
