The posting

Maxwell Energy Systems is building the next generation of electronics for electric mobility, with products spanning Battery Management Systems (BMS), EV Chargers, Motor Controllers, DC-DC Converters and other automotive electronic systems.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – End of Line Hardware Testing & Maintenance to lead our End-of-Line (EOL) and Functional Circuit Test (FCT) engineering activities at our Aurangabad manufacturing facility.

This role is ideal for an experienced test engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of electronics, automation, manufacturing and production engineering, and can take ownership of test systems from concept through commissioning and mass production.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the EOL/FCT Test Engineering and Maintenance team and own the availability, performance and continuous improvement of production test systems.
  • Understand, maintain and continuously improve existing FCT, EOL and ICT test systems, fixtures, test masters and software.
  • Develop test strategies, test cases and test sequences for new electronic products in collaboration with Hardware, Firmware, Systems and Manufacturing teams.
  • Design test-system architecture, including test fixtures, electrical interfaces, instrumentation, switching, communication and safety mechanisms.
  • Design and develop automated test fixtures and jigs for EOL and functional testing of automotive electronic products.
  • Define test protocols, hardware connections, measurement methods and acceptance criteria based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Automate test processes using Python, LabVIEW or equivalent programming environments.
  • Work with external test-fixture and equipment suppliers to develop, commission and qualify production test systems.
  • Take ownership of test engineering activities across the product lifecycle, from Design Verification Planning through Start of Production (SOP) and mass production.
  • Ensure timely commissioning, validation and release of test equipment, fixtures and software for production.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to Production for test failures, intermittent issues, equipment downtime and product-related problems.
  • Perform structured test failure analysis and root-cause investigation, working with Hardware, Firmware, Quality and Manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and maintain CAN-based test and diagnostic tools/software, including CANView and related production utilities.
  • Maintain and improve test masters, test specifications, calibration requirements, software and documentation for FCT/EOL systems.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation, cycle-time reduction, cost reduction, yield improvement and increased test coverage.
  • Participate in component and product design reviews to ensure testability and manufacturability are considered from the beginning of the design.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers on FCT/EOL development, debugging, automation and maintenance.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware test engineering, EOL/FCT development and maintenance, preferably in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and the ability to read and troubleshoot complex schematics.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test systems, fixtures and production test equipment.
  • Strong experience with LabVIEW and/or Python for test automation.
  • Experience defining test sequences, test cases, measurement methods, limits and pass/fail criteria.
  • Experience with EOL/FCT test systems, test fixtures, instrumentation and production debugging.
  • Strong understanding of interfaces such as CAN, UART, SPI, I²C and other commonly used electronic communication interfaces.
  • Experience working directly with Production, Quality, Hardware and Firmware teams to resolve manufacturing and product issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (ECE/EEE) or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with automotive electronics, BMS, EV chargers, motor controllers or other EV products.
  • Experience developing test systems for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with NI hardware, DAQ systems, PXI/PXIe, switching matrices, electronic loads, power supplies and other automated test instrumentation.
  • Experience with ICT, FCT, EOL and production validation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAN tools and automotive diagnostic/testing protocols.
  • Experience working with external test-fixture and automation vendors.
  • Understanding of DFT (Design for Testability) and manufacturing test optimization.
  • Experience in reducing test cycle time, improving first-pass yield and increasing test coverage.

Why Maxwell?

At Maxwell, you will work directly on production hardware used in real electric vehicles and play a critical role in ensuring that every product leaving our manufacturing line meets its required quality and performance standards. You will have the opportunity to build and improve the complete hardware testing and automation ecosystem, while working closely with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality and external technology partners. If you are someone who can own a test system end-to-end, solve difficult production problems and build scalable automated testing solutions, we'd like to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
