Position: AU/NZ - Paralegal - Dayshift Remote

Salary: Php 60,000 to Php 80,000

Working Hours & Conditions: AU Working Hours and Holidays

Employment: Full Time - Independent Contractor

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

The company is a dynamic Victorian law firm practicing across personal injury, criminal law, family law, employment law, immigration law, and civil litigation and dispute resolution. The firm regularly appears in the Magistrates', County, Supreme, and Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Personal injury stands as company's strongest, highest-priority practice area. Recently accepted onto the Legal Aid Panel across multiple jurisdictions, the firm is rapidly expanding while modernizing its tech stack by transitioning from ActionStep to PracticePanther.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a high-velocity Paralegal with an exceptional work ethic to serve as a critical operational anchor for the company. The primary focus of this role is to drive efficiency and clear a time-sensitive backlog of high-value personal injury files, ensuring briefs are compiled and delivered to barristers without delay. Supporting family law matters and broader firm administration, you will play a key role in helping establish the firm's offshore working model during an exciting period of digital transition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Progress personal injury files at pace, resolving backlog and prioritizing matters requiring movement over the next 12 months.
  • Prepare and assemble comprehensive briefs for barristers to prevent delays in court proceedings.
  • Draft correspondence, file notes, standard legal documents, and gather medical/client records promptly.
  • Maintain strict calendar control, diarizing court deadlines and tracking file status within PracticePanther and ActionStep.
  • Assist with family law matters, affidavit preparation, document drafting, and Legal Aid Panel administration.
  • Provide ad hoc operational and administrative support across criminal, civil, employment, and immigration practice areas.
  • Support the firm's system migration from ActionStep to PracticePanther and assist senior leadership directly.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated paralegal experience with a proven track record in personal injury matter management.
  • Strong familiarity with legal documentation, court procedures, and the preparation of barrister briefs.
  • Excellent written English skills with precise attention to detail in legal drafting and proofreading.
  • High agency and ability to work independently, manage a busy caseload, and prioritize urgent tasks without close supervision.

Preferred

  • Direct experience within an Australian legal environment, ideally Victoria.
  • Prior hands-on experience using ActionStep and/or PracticePanther practice management systems.
  • Multi-disciplinary exposure covering family law, workers' compensation, debt recovery, or affidavit drafting.

What You’ll Bring

  • Urgency & Pace: A drive to move files efficiently and resolve time-sensitive backlogs without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Reliability: Consistency and transparency as a trusted foundational offshore team member.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to manage shifting practice demands and stay resilient during software migrations.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A proactive, supportive approach to working directly with firm leadership and the broader legal team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
