To further drive the provision of smart solutions and ensure effective utilisation of the vast amount of data collected, analysed, processed, and delivered as data products, we are expanding our engineering team and seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer to join our core team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs aligned with business needs.
  • Build and operate data pipelines that ingest public tender data from multiple sources and countries, with a focus on data quality, normalization, and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain resilient data processing and extraction components, using AI where it adds value.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize relational database operations for high-volume data workflows.
  • Work AI-first using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code while owning the quality and correctness of delivered software.
  • Build AI-powered capabilities and features into products and data processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, including reviews of AI-generated code, and help maintain high engineering standards.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver lasting fixes.
  • Handle data securely and responsibly, including when working with AI tools.
  • Collaborate with Product, AI, and customer-facing teams to understand requirements and deliver data products to clients.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with a solid grasp of backend infrastructure and software design principles.
  • Experience working with large datasets and data pipelines, ideally within a SaaS environment.
  • Strong experience with C# and modern .NET.
  • Strong experience with relational databases (SQL), including schema design and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or agents in day-to-day development, with sound judgment on when to trust, verify, or rewrite their output.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and clean, maintainable architecture.
  • Familiarity with Azure, including App Services, Service Bus, Functions, and Storage, or with a comparable cloud platform.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical mindset.
  • Clear communication, ownership of your work, and a collaborative approach.
  • Curiosity about new AI tools and approaches, and the ability to learn quickly as they evolve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python for data processing, extraction, or AI integration work.
  • Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures such as Service Bus or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch or other search technologies, including vector or semantic search.
  • Experience working with multilingual or unstructured document data.
  • Prior experience in pharma, medtech, healthcare, or public procurement.
