About Our Organization

This position supports one of the trusted behavioral health programs within the Advanced Recovery Systems family. Advanced Recovery Systems is the parent organization of The Recovery Village, Promises Behavioral Health, The Right Step, and The Ranch, bringing together established treatment brands with a shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based addiction and mental health care.

While you may work primarily with a specific facility or brand, you will be part of a larger, growing organization focused on improving patient outcomes, supporting our employees, and strengthening the communities we serve.

Make a Difference in Someone’s Recovery Journey

At The Recovery Village, every day brings an opportunity to help someone take a meaningful step toward a healthier, more hopeful future.

We’re looking for compassionate, dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) who want to be part of that journey. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support to patients receiving treatment for substance use and mental health conditions while helping create an environment where safety, dignity, connection, and recovery come first.

As a BHT, you’ll be an important member of the care team. You’ll spend meaningful time with patients throughout their day—building trust, encouraging participation, recognizing changes in behavior or mood, and supporting the clinical team in delivering individualized care.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct patient safety checks, room checks, and shift hand-offs to help maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Support admissions by assisting with belongings searches, documentation, orientation, and welcoming new patients to the facility.
  • Build positive relationships with patients while supporting meals, groups, recreational activities, and community interactions.
  • Assist nursing staff with vitals, breathalyzers, urine drug screens, pulse oximetry, and other competency-based procedures.
  • Observe and communicate changes in patient behavior, mood, or safety concerns to the treatment team.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques when needed.
  • Follow infection-control, hand-hygiene, and biohazard-safety practices.
  • Partner with nursing, clinical, and case-management teams to reinforce individualized treatment goals and care plans.
  • Model professionalism, healthy boundaries, compassion, and recovery-focused behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

If you’re someone who believes that small moments of connection can make a big difference—and you want your work to have a meaningful impact—this could be the opportunity for you.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework or a degree in behavioral health or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, healthcare, human services, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience providing direct support or service to clients, patients, or customers strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
  • Good driving record that meets company safety and insurance requirements.
  • QMAP, CNA, MA, Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT), Mental Health Technician Certification (MHTC), or trauma-informed care training/certification preferred—or willingness to obtain applicable credentials.
  • Strong communication, observation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to treating every patient with dignity, respect, and empathy.

Benefits

We believe caring for others starts with creating a workplace where our employees can feel supported, valued, and equipped to thrive. Eligible full-time employees have access to a comprehensive benefits program that includes:

  • Medical insurance with multiple plan options, including PPO and HDHP choices.
  • Dental and vision coverage with employee and family options.
  • Company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance, with supplemental coverage available.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a company match of 50% of the first 4% of employee contributions.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) for eligible HDHP participants, including a company match of 50% of employee contributions up to the applicable annual limit.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), including healthcare and dependent-care options.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with confidential support for employees and eligible family members.
  • Telemedicine and virtual mental health services for eligible employees and dependents enrolled in a medical plan.
  • Wellness program opportunities, including a potential monthly medical premium discount for eligible participants who complete required wellness activities.
  • Paid time off and additional voluntary benefits, including short- and long-term disability, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, legal services, travel assistance, and other resources.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
