Are you looking to start or develop your career in Accounting? Join an international finance team where you can strengthen your accounting skills, gain hands-on experience with SAP and contribute to daily financial operations.

Our client, a Leading Industrial Group, is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join its Financial Services team in Athens.

This is an excellent opportunity for junior professionals to develop their accounting knowledge and gain exposure to international finance processes. You will support supplier invoice processing, accounting entries and Accounts Payable activities while collaborating with teams across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process, review and validate supplier invoices and accounting documents.
  • Record accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records in SAP and other financial systems.
  • Support Accounts Payable operations, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies and resolve matching issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of accounting reports and financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Treasury, Tax and business teams across Europe.
  • Contribute to process improvement, standardization and automation initiatives.
  • Assist with audits and develop knowledge of international accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Shared Services or Business Operations is an advantage.
  • An MSc in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other related field will be considered a strong asset
  • Candidates pursuing, or interested in pursuing internationally recognised professional qualifications, such as ACCA, ACA, CMA, or IFRS Diploma, are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English & Bulgarian.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic, international environment.
