The role
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team and support one of our major clients in the banking sector. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external technology providers, supporting the evolution and optimization of business applications and processes within a demanding, highly regulated environment.
This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working at the intersection of business and IT, translating business needs into clear functional requirements, facilitating collaboration between stakeholders and technical teams, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet business objectives while adhering to the operational and regulatory requirements of the banking industry.
What you'll do
- Engage with business stakeholders across banking functions to gather, analyze, challenge, and document business requirements.
- Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria, depending on the project delivery approach.
- Analyze existing business processes and supporting applications, identifying opportunities for optimization, simplification, and automation.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and collaborate with IT teams to define appropriate solutions.
- Maintain end-to-end visibility throughout the project lifecycle, from initial business demand and requirements gathering through solution design, development, testing, implementation, and post-deployment support.
- Collaborate with developers, solution architects, application owners, project managers, and third-party technology vendors to ensure the successful delivery of business solutions.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenario definition, results validation, defect tracking, and resolution.
- Ensure that delivered solutions align with business expectations, internal policies, operational procedures, and applicable banking requirements.
- Support change management activities, including end-user training, documentation, and the adoption of new or enhanced applications.
- Work within Agile/Scrum environments where applicable, while adapting to hybrid or Waterfall methodologies based on project needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the banking or broader financial services sector.
- Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Hands-on experience preparing BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of business process analysis and modeling.
- Experience throughout the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development coordination, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements for technical teams.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business users, IT departments, project managers, and external vendors.
- Excellent command of both Greek and English, written and spoken.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in a bank or financial institution, particularly on projects involving core banking systems or banking business applications.
- Familiarity with banking products, processes, and operations, such as payments, lending, deposits, cards, customer onboarding, or digital banking.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the banking sector.
- Experience with enterprise applications, CRM, ERP, document management, workflow management, or other business-critical platforms.
- Familiarity with integrations between banking applications, core systems, APIs, and external platforms.
- Understanding of data and reporting concepts, including databases, BI tools, and business intelligence dashboards.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
