Business Development Manager - Systems

East Region

Envirogen Group is strengthening its position in the most demanding segment of the water market, delivering large-scale engineered systems for industrial and municipal customers whose challenges require far more than off-the-shelf solutions. Our projects span wastewater remediation, groundwater treatment, and advanced absorptive technologies, with customers choosing Envirogen based on engineering expertise, performance, and total lifecycle value.

We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to drive growth across our Systems business. This is a strategic, customer-facing role focused on originating and winning complex capital projects while developing long-term commercial partnerships that generate recurring service and operational revenue.

The successful candidate will lead the full sales cycle for technically sophisticated solutions, including Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR) technologies, Advanced Metal Removal Systems (AMRS), and regenerable ion exchange systems such as SimPACK and MinX. You will play a key role in positioning Envirogen as the preferred partner early in the customer planning process and demonstrating the long-term value of our engineered solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

Develop Regional Growth Strategies

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within industrial and municipal markets.
  • Create and execute regional business development plans aligned to revenue and profitability targets.
  • Build a strong pipeline of large capital project opportunities.

Build Long-Term Customer Relationships

  • Develop trusted relationships with customers, consulting engineers, regulators, and industry partners.
  • Create opportunities for multi-year engagements including capital sales with service contracts, DBOO, and DB&O arrangements.
  • Establish Envirogen as a recognised specialist in complex engineered treatment solutions.

Lead Consultative Sales Engagements

  • Conduct detailed discovery to understand customer challenges, technical requirements, commercial drivers, and compliance considerations.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to develop customised treatment solutions.
  • Support projects from concept studies and pilot programmes through to full-scale implementation.
  • Demonstrate lifecycle cost savings, return on investment, and total cost of ownership benefits to customers.

Own the Full Sales Cycle

  • Generate and qualify opportunities through proactive business development activity.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Drive opportunities through to successful award and project handover.

What Success Looks Like

  • Achievement of regional revenue and profitability targets.
  • Growth in qualified pipeline opportunities and order intake for large capital systems projects.
  • Increased recurring revenue through service and operational contracts.
  • Successful conversion of early-stage engagements into sole-source or preferred supplier positions.
  • Consistent forecasting accuracy and CRM excellence.
  • A strengthened presence within engineering, regulatory, and industry association communities.

Requirements

  • Experience securing DBOO, DB&O, or capital-plus-service contracts.
  • Strong understanding of lifecycle cost analysis, ROI modelling, and value-based selling.
  • Experience within industrial sectors such as hydrocarbon processing, chemical manufacturing, power generation, or general manufacturing.
  • Ability to conduct market analysis, identify opportunities, and develop strategic territory plans.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, customer focus, relationship-building capability, and commercial resilience.

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
