Business Development Representative — Recruiting Services Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan | Hybrid

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to bring in new clients and grow our recruiting business. This role focuses on connecting with employers, identifying hiring needs, and securing agreements for direct hire and on-site recruiting services throughout the United States.

Previous sales experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who communicates confidently, takes initiative, follows up consistently, and is motivated to achieve results.

This is a hybrid position based in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with remote work and in-person client meetings, networking, and team collaboration as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Reach prospective clients through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, and referrals.
  • Build relationships with business owners, HR professionals, plant managers, and hiring leaders.
  • Learn about employers’ hiring challenges and explain how our recruiting services can help.
  • Schedule meetings, present services, follow up on proposals, and secure new client agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for direct hire and on-site recruiting support.
  • Expand relationships into additional departments and company locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, conversations, follow-ups, and sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team to communicate client needs and expectations.
  • Work toward agreed-upon activity, new client, and revenue goals.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to make outbound calls and initiate conversations with new businesses.
  • Persistence, organization, and dependable follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to goals.
  • Comfort learning sales tools and tracking prospect activity.
  • Previous sales, customer service, or business development experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Recruiting industry experience is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings and networking activities in the Metro Detroit area.

Training and Development

Training will cover our recruiting services, prospecting approach, sales process, and client expectations. We are looking for someone who is coachable, takes ownership of their work, and is eager to develop lasting client relationships.
