Location: Onsite in Franklin Park, IL

Pay Range: $50,000 - 60,000 + Commission

Job Summary

The role of the Business Development Representative is to assist in the growth and expansion of the Moss events business by working closely with the sales and marketing departments. Your primary objective will be to generate high-quality leads in collaboration with sales leadership to build a strong pipeline. You will collaborate with our Marketing Team to gain insights and help develop effective sales collateral and go-to-market strategies. As a Business Development Representative, you will identify and evaluate potential business opportunities and engage with suitable companies that align with Moss's mission. Your success will be measured by the number of new business opportunities generated and your ability to foster cross-functional collaboration within the Moss organization.

What You'll Do...

  • Schedule First Time Appointments (FTAs) and meetings that result in conversion to new business opportunities with target prospects and existing customers.
  • Research and identify companies aligned with the overall company market growth strategy.
  • Familiarize yourself with Moss's systems, products, culture, and sales processes to become proficient.
  • Source new business opportunities through outbound cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn.
  • Engage and qualify inbound MQLs in Salesforce and move them through the sales funnel.
  • Leverage Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Manage the Moss sales phone line.
  • Build out target accounts within our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), identifying key decision-makers and adding multiple contacts per account.
  • Maintain clean, accurate account and contact data in Salesforce to support proper pipeline reporting.
  • Complete pre-call planning and deliver thorough handoffs to SAEs, educating them on the prospect as needed.
  • Share and test new prospecting ideas based on market knowledge and experience.
  • Contribute to team huddles and meetings while remaining adaptable and optimistic.

Requirements

What You'll Bring...

  • Previous successful Business development experience or a strong desire to begin a sales career.
  • A track record of high performance and a drive to meet and exceed measurable goals is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field preferred but not required.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a passion for execution.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment alongside peers who challenge you to be better.
  • Naturally curious, self-directed, and results oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilience to handle objections and rejection daily.
  • Ability to represent Moss professionally with customers, prospects, and partners.
