The posting

Looking for Filipino (Philippines-based) candidates

Job Role: Business Development Specialist (Recruitment)

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM,

Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Compensation: 1800 - 2,000 AUD / Month

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Who We Are: At Hunt St we help Australian companies directly hire top 5% remote talent in the Philippines. You will be hired directly by the client, typically as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

The client is a leading transformation consultancy providing project delivery services across financial services, regulated businesses, and digital and platform businesses.

Role Overview:

The client is seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist (Recruitment) to join their growing team.

This is a predominantly business development-focused role, with approximately 80% of the position focused on generating new business and 20% on recruitment delivery.

The primary focus will be identifying companies with recruitment needs, engaging key decision-makers, generating new opportunities, and converting those opportunities into clients. The recruitment function is supported by automated sourcing and screening processes, allowing this role to focus on building strong client relationships and driving new business.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of winning new business, with hands-on experience in outbound prospecting, booking meetings with decision-makers, and converting prospects into clients. They should be able to demonstrate measurable results from their business development efforts.

While recruitment experience is valuable, strong business development experience is the priority. A proven business developer with some recruitment exposure would be a stronger fit than an experienced recruiter without a demonstrated history of generating new business.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Client Acquisition (80%)

  • Identify and target companies with current or potential recruitment and talent requirements.
  • Conduct outbound business development activities through LinkedIn, email, phone, networking, and other relevant channels.
  • Research and identify key decision-makers, including hiring managers, HR leaders, talent acquisition teams, and senior executives.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Initiate conversations with prospective clients and confidently communicate the value of the Company's recruitment and talent solutions.
  • Book qualified meetings with decision-makers and develop opportunities through the sales process.
  • Convert prospects into new clients and build long-term commercial relationships.
  • Manage follow-ups and maintain consistent engagement throughout the business development cycle.
  • Track business development activity, pipeline performance, meetings booked, opportunities generated, and clients won.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing clients and generate repeat business.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client needs, market trends, and recruitment requirements across key industries.

Recruitment Delivery (20%)

  • Manage the recruitment pipeline supported by the Company's automated sourcing and screening processes.
  • Review and manage candidate pipelines to ensure relevant candidates are progressing appropriately.
  • Prepare high-quality candidate shortlists based on client requirements.
  • Review candidate profiles and assess suitability against role requirements.
  • Liaise with candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process when required.
  • Support the delivery of recruitment assignments generated through successful business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within recruitment and ATS platforms.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of outbound B2B business development or sales experience, gained in recruitment, staffing, professional services, or technology environments.
  • Proven track record of generating new business through outbound prospecting.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and engage senior decision-makers and book qualified meetings.
  • Experience personally winning new clients and building strong client relationships.
  • Ability to provide measurable results, such as meetings booked, pipeline generated, revenue, conversion rates, or clients won.
  • Strong understanding of the business development cycle, from prospecting and outreach through to meetings, proposals, negotiation, and client acquisition.
  • Previous experience selling into the Australian market is essential.
  • Experience prospecting within financial services, regulated businesses, digital businesses, technology, or platform businesses is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian business environment and key decision-makers involved in hiring and talent acquisition.
  • Recruitment or staffing experience is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding of recruitment processes, candidate pipelines, and ATS platforms.
  • Ability to assess candidate profiles and prepare relevant shortlists based on client requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating with Australian business leaders.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, influencing, and consultative selling skills.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and results-driven, with a strong focus on achieving business development targets.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the sales pipeline and business development outcomes.
  • Highly organised with strong follow-up, pipeline management, and time management skills.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a business developer first, with recruitment experience as an advantage.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have personally created business — not simply managed inbound leads or supported an existing sales function. They should be comfortable picking up the phone, running outbound campaigns, starting conversations with new prospects, booking meetings, and ultimately converting those opportunities into clients.

Candidates should be able to talk confidently about their business development results and provide specific examples of clients they have personally won.

A strong recruiter without a proven business development track record is unlikely to be the right fit. Conversely, a proven B2B business developer with some recruitment or staffing experience could be an excellent fit for the role.

Why Join Us?

  • Growth Opportunities: Be part of a fast-paced and exciting team with ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Impactful Work: Play a key role in building the Company's workforce and contributing to our success.
  • Innovative Environment: Work in a supportive and innovative environment where your expertise is valued and your ideas are encouraged.

The client is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates who meet the above criteria and are eager to join a forward-thinking team.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
