Build Something You Can Be Proud Of

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is looking for experienced 2nd/3rd/4th/Journeyman Carpenters to join our growing team in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

If you're a carpenter who enjoys hands-on work, working outdoors, and seeing the finished product, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work on a variety of unique civil construction projects.

Our carpentry work goes well beyond traditional residential construction. You'll have the opportunity to work on timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, concrete formwork, grade beams, framing, stairs, walls, and fences—projects that become part of the communities we build.

This is a seasonal position, Monday through Saturday, local to Edmonton and area.

Why Wilco?

At Wilco, we build more than infrastructure—we build communities and strong teams.

Based out of Northwest Edmonton, Wilco is a leading civil construction contractor specializing in earthworks, underground utilities, site development, landscape construction, and community infrastructure.

We're proud of our reputation for safety, quality, and hard work, but just as importantly, we're proud of our people. We believe in supporting each other, sharing knowledge, and taking pride in the work we leave behind.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Journeyman Carpenter, you'll be involved in the construction and installation of a variety of structural and finish carpentry projects, including:

  • Reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Preparing, erecting, and removing structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams, shafts, and grade beams.
  • Building wood forms for concrete construction projects.
  • Constructing wooden framing, including walls and floors.
  • Installing roof systems, partitions, and stairs.
  • Constructing timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, walls, fences, and other civil/landscape structures.
  • Moving materials and maintaining an organized and clean worksite.
  • Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Applying information from drawings, specifications, building codes, and direction from supervisors.
  • Setting priorities and adapting to changing project requirements.
  • Maintaining safe working conditions and following Wilco's safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a Carpenter who knows their trade, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a strong crew.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Carpenter with minimum 5 years framing/finishing.
  • 2nd year, 3rd year, or 4th year Carpenter with minimum 2 years framing/finishing

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
