Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Credit Analyst/Assessor/Manager (AU Home Loan Mortgage and Direct Lender experience)

Compensation range: PHP 90,000 - PHP 130,000/Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9:00AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. Holiday: NSW Holidays

Who We Are:

At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

Our client specializes in supporting self-employed borrowers through low-doc lending solutions. With extensive experience in non-standard and complex loan scenarios, our client has developed deep expertise in this niche, allowing them to provide tailored, high-quality guidance to clients with unique financial situations.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a Credit Manager to support the end-to-end management of mortgage applications while delivering an outstanding client experience.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with Australian mortgage and credit experience, ideally with direct lender-side credit experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Australian home lending, be comfortable reviewing and assessing loan applications, and be proactive, analytical, and eager to learn.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have worked directly on the lender side of the mortgage industry, such as a Credit Analyst or Credit Assessor. We are also open to smart, ambitious Credit Analysts who may not know everything yet but demonstrate strong capability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop under the guidance of an experienced team member.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and progress mortgage applications from initial assessment through to submission and settlement.
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with lender requirements.
  • Request, collect, review, and organize supporting documents from clients.
  • Assess borrower information, financial documents, and loan scenarios.
  • Review credit checks, property valuations, and other relevant lending information.
  • Liaise with clients, lenders, brokers, and other stakeholders throughout the loan process.
  • Identify issues or missing information and proactively work to resolve them.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure applications are properly tracked in Broker Engine.
  • Assist with preparing loan scenarios and lender quotes.
  • Prepare and email loan quotes to clients as required.
  • Assist with lead follow-up and support conversion opportunities.
  • Ensure applications continue progressing efficiently through to settlement.
  • Support the Director and wider team with credit, administrative, and operational tasks as required.
  • Work closely with senior team members, particularly during the initial period, to learn and apply the company's processes and approach to credit management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Australian mortgage lending, credit assessment, loan processing, mortgage broking, or a closely related role. Previous experience as a Credit Analyst, Credit Assessor, Credit Manager, or similar lender-side role.
  • Direct Australian lender-side credit experience is highly preferred, particularly experience reviewing, assessing, or making decisions on mortgage applications.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian home loan process, including application, assessment, approval, and settlement.
  • Experience reviewing borrower documentation and assessing loan applications.
  • Understanding of Australian lending policies, servicing requirements, and credit criteria.
  • Experience with AOL, Broker Engine, or similar Australian mortgage/lending platforms.
  • Experience working with self-employed borrowers and Low Doc lending is highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and competing priorities.
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and finding solutions rather than simply waiting for instructions.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes and adopt the company's way of working.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with a major Australian lender, non-bank lender, or mortgage aggregator.
  • Experience independently reviewing and assessing residential mortgage applications.
  • Experience preparing loan scenarios and lender quotes.
  • Experience communicating directly with Australian brokers, clients, and lenders.
  • Experience with self-employed borrowers, Low Doc applications, and more complex lending scenarios.
  • Experience handling loan applications for property purchases, including apartments.
  • Experience with credit assessment, servicing calculations, valuations, and lender policy interpretation.
  • Strong CRM and mortgage software experience.

Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Australian mortgage credit and understands how lenders assess and process home loan applications.
  • Our first preference is someone with direct lender-side credit experience, similar to a Credit Analyst or Credit Assessor who has personally reviewed and assessed mortgage applications.
  • However, we are also open to candidates who may not have every skill required from day one. A smart, ambitious, analytical Credit Analyst who is eager to learn and willing to be trained in our processes can be a strong fit for the role.
  • We're looking for someone who is proactive, inquisitive, capable, and willing to take ownership. You should be comfortable asking questions, understanding the reason behind a process, identifying problems, and learning how to do things correctly rather than simply waiting to be told what to do.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the other team member as her understudy, learning from her experience while progressively taking greater ownership of credit and loan applications.
  • Technical knowledge is important, but we're equally focused on finding someone with the capability, attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn to become a strong long-term member of the team.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • The candidate must work exclusively with the client’s business from their hire date and must not have any other ongoing employment, client work, freelance engagements, or side hustles.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
