The posting

Job Purpose:

The Civil Engineer will supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across the project site. The role will ensure that work is executed safely, to approved drawings and specifications, in line with the project schedule and quality requirements. Working closely with the Project/Construction Manager, discipline engineers, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and site services, the position will manage work-front readiness, resolve site interfaces, monitor progress, and support the safe construction and commissioning of the fertilizer plant, ammonia import facility, pipeline, and on-site plant systems.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily site construction activities across assigned work areas, ensuring alignment with approved drawings, method statements, work permits, specifications, and schedules.

• Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation work fronts to ensure efficient sequencing and timely access for all disciplines.

• Review contractor work plans, manpower deployment, equipment availability, material readiness, and look-ahead schedules; identify constraints and drive their resolution.

• Ensure all activities comply with project HSE requirements, approved risk assessments, permit-to-work controls, and site housekeeping standards; stop and escalate unsafe work immediately.

• Lead daily coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and work-front reviews with contractors and project teams, maintaining clear communication across a multicultural workforce.

• Coordinate construction interfaces for critical plant systems, including the ammonia import facility, pipeline, storage, and distribution areas; support constructability reviews, pre-commissioning, and system handover.

• Report site issues, near misses, quality defects, and construction deviations promptly; support investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.

• Coordinate site access, lifting operations, scaffolding, temporary works, logistics, and shared-area activities with contractors and relevant project stakeholders.

• Monitor work quality and progress against inspection and test plans, approved procedures, and construction milestones; raise non-conformances and follow up corrective actions.

• Verify that red-line markups, field changes, punch-list items, and as-built information are captured accurately before area or system handover.

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, planning, document control, commissioning, and operations teams to resolve technical and construction interfaces.

• Track daily progress, productivity, manpower, equipment utilization, constraints, and recovery actions; provide concise reports to the Construction Manager.

• Maintain a visible field presence, promote disciplined execution, and escalate risks that could affect safety, quality, cost, schedule, or plant operability.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
