We are seeking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Exchange Online & Microsoft 365) to join our team.

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Exchange Online & Microsoft 365)

We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, administration, security, governance, and operations of Microsoft 365 services, with a primary focus on Exchange Online and Microsoft Entra ID.

The role is responsible for ensuring secure, resilient, and scalable collaboration, messaging, identity, and productivity services across the organisation. The engineer will work closely with product principals, outsourced service providers, vendors, and stakeholders to drive service delivery, technology refresh, cloud transformation, security compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 & Exchange Online Administration

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Viva, Dynamics 365, Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Platform.
  • Manage Exchange Online environments, including mailbox administration, mail flow, transport rules, connectors, distribution groups, Microsoft 365 Groups, message tracing, SMTP relay, and hybrid deployments.
  • Lead or support Exchange Hybrid, mailbox migration, tenant-to-tenant migration, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Manage service health monitoring, tenant administration, licensing, user lifecycle management, and Microsoft 365 operational support.

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including identity lifecycle management, hybrid identity, Entra Connect, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and identity governance.
  • Support synchronisation between on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, federation services, and hybrid identity architectures.
  • Implement identity security controls aligned with Microsoft and industry best practices, including password protection, privileged access controls, and phishing-resistant authentication.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Implement and maintain Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Purview, information protection, retention policies, eDiscovery, audit logging, anti-phishing controls, and email security policies.
  • Manage SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Safe Links, Safe Attachments, Exchange Online Protection (EOP), DLP, and security monitoring capabilities.
  • Ensure operational processes comply with security, governance, risk, compliance, and organisational policies.
  • Support audits, security assessments, investigations, access reviews, and compliance reporting activities.

Automation & Engineering

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation for provisioning, reporting, configuration management, and operational support.
  • Automate operational processes and reporting to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service reliability.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.

Collaboration & Endpoint Services

  • Support administration and governance of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune-managed endpoints.
  • Manage device compliance, endpoint security, MDM/MAM, Windows Autopilot, and workplace productivity solutions.
  • Support modern workplace initiatives and adoption of Microsoft productivity platforms.

Infrastructure Operations & Service Management

  • Monitor service health, audit logs, capacity trends, messaging performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, messaging, identity, networking, and collaboration issues.
  • Manage incidents, problem management, change implementation, root cause analysis (RCA), service continuity, and business continuity activities.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to ensure service levels, operational support, and project deliverables are achieved.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, or cloud infrastructure operations.
  • Hands-on experience in Exchange Online administration, Microsoft 365 tenant administration, hybrid Exchange environments, Microsoft Entra ID and identity management, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Intune administration, and security and compliance technologies within Microsoft 365.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, authentication and federation protocols, Exchange Hybrid architecture, and cloud security and zero trust principles.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation, and Microsoft Graph APIs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise or government cloud environments is an advantage.

  • Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102)
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate (MS-500)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst (SC-200)
  • Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
