About Wrisk

Wrisk is transforming insurance for the digital age, making it simpler, more transparent and more relevant to customers.

We combine technology, deep insurance capability and rich data to help leading global brands build and operate embedded insurance propositions. Our platform supports the full customer lifecycle - from acquisition and quotation through to policy management, renewals and ongoing portfolio optimisation.

As Wrisk continues to scale its Platform as a Service offering across the UK and Europe, we are seeking a seasoned commercial leader to drive our next phase of growth.

The Role at a Glance

We are looking for a strong Commercial Director to lead strategic client relationships, shape new propositions and accelerate sustainable revenue growth for Wrisk’s PaaS business across the UK and Europe.

This is not a traditional sales or relationship management role. It sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, client leadership, platform delivery and proposition development.

You will work with strategic partners across their entire lifecycle—from shaping pre-sales opportunities and structuring commercially viable deals to managing deployment and unlocking long-term account value. If you are a mature, calm, and structured executive who challenges ambiguity, takes deep ownership of client ecosystems, and turns complex market opportunities into scalable momentum, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do

Drive Commercial Growth & Market Expansion

  • Pipeline & Deal Leadership: Identify, shape, and progress strategic PaaS opportunities across the UK and European markets
  • High-Impact Negotiations: Lead client discovery, executive proposition workshops, and complex commercial negotiations—ensuring deals are commercially attractive, operationally viable, and aligned with Wrisk’s platform strategy
  • Strategy & Repeatability: Help shape Wrisk’s overall PaaS commercial model, pricing strategies, and go-to-market approach by synthesising real-time client and market feedback into scalable product requirements

Own Strategic Client Relationships & Account Value

  • Executive Account Governance: Own a high-value portfolio of PaaS clients from initial engagement through deployment, launch, expansion, and multi-year renewals
  • C-Suite Advisory: Build trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders, leading executive reviews, joint account planning, and strategic QBR
  • Expansion & Upsell: Leverage platform usage data, operational metrics, and commercial insights to spot new growth vectors, introduce additional modules, and expand into new geographic markets

Proposition Framing & Delivery Alignment

  • Bridge Strategy and Execution: Translate complex partner needs into clear commercial, product, and technical delivery requirements without over-committing
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with internal Product, Engineering, Data, Delivery, Operations, Insurance, and Compliance teams to ensure delivery feasibility and seamless execution
  • Risk & Issue Escalation: Maintain clear visibility over account health, technical blockers, delivery dependencies, and commercial risks—driving resolution early and decisively

Commercial Discipline & Internal Reporting

  • Data-Driven Account Management: Maintain rigorous visibility over pipeline, revenue forecasts, performance metrics, and client commitments across CRM, account plans, and financial models
  • Executive Visibility: Provide evidence-based reporting and actionable updates directly to the CODO and Leadership Team.

Requirements

About You

You are a data-driven, commercially astute leader who is technically curious, deeply organised and highly effective at advising senior stakeholders. You combine strong commercial judgement with the ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Insurance and Compliance.

Your Experience and Profile

  • The Track Record: You bring 12 to 15+ years of experience across strategic account management, platform delivery, client success, commercial operations or proposition development within a high-growth SaaS, PaaS, fintech, insurtech or regulated platform environment
  • Commercial Judgement: You understand account economics, complex deal architecture, SaaS pricing models, contractual frameworks, and tactical revenue growth plans, including the trade-offs involved in balancing client needs with product strategy, delivery capacity and long-term value
  • Technical Fluency: You have a practical understanding of APIs, integrations, don’t write code, but you can engage credibly with engineers, product managers and client engineering teams
  • Analytical & Quantitative Mindset: You are fluent in using metrics, CRM systems, JIRA, Confluence and dashboards to assess account health, track delivery and support clear decision-making
  • Internal Influence: You can build trust and consensus across multi-disciplinary teams (Engineering, Product, Operations) and drive alignment without relying strictly on hierarchical authority
  • Calm & Structured Operator: You have high emotional intelligence and composure when navigating complex client escalations, tight deployment windows or ambiguous market scenarios
  • Industry Context: Some prior experience across UK/European markets working alongside insurers, brokers, MGAs, Auto OEMs or Tier-1 regulated financial services would be highly desirable

What Good Looks Like

At Wrisk, success isn't just about keeping the peace; it's about driving momentum. You will know you are succeeding when you:

  • Act as an Owner, Not a Messenger: You don't just pass information back and forth; you synthesise context, challenge ambiguity, and drive actions to completion
  • Nail the Delivery: Seamlessly convert PaaS opportunities from initial sales pitches to successful, on-time technical launches
  • Establish Bulletproof Trust: Build deep credibility with clients through organised execution, technical accuracy, and transparent, data-driven reporting
  • Mitigate Risk Early: Spot blockers, delivery delays, or relationship friction long before they become critical issues
  • Deliver Measurable Value: Help clients clearly see and track the tangible business value they get from Wrisk’s platform
  • Win Internally: Build strong, trusted-base relationships across Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Insurance and Compliance bringing people with you and maintaining pace
  • Stay Ahead of the Market: Maintain a sharp perspective on shifts in technology, regulation, client priorities and competitor propositions across the UK/Europe, converting those insights into practical growth opportunities for Wrisk.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
