The posting

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to develop accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects.

This role will manage the estimating process from initial plan review through project handoff, with a focus on drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, and related interior finish systems. The Estimator will be responsible for detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, subcontractor and vendor pricing, bid preparation, and identifying scope gaps and project risks before submission.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial interior construction estimating experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related interior construction projects.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop complete cost estimates, budgets, bid proposals, scope summaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, value-engineering opportunities, and potential project risks.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to clarify scope, quantities, and pricing assumptions.
  • Maintain organized estimating files, historical pricing data, bid records, and project documentation.
  • Support project turnover by providing estimate breakdowns, budgets, assumptions, scope clarifications, and pricing details to the operations team.
  • Monitor material costs, labor rates, subcontractor pricing, and market conditions to maintain accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Participate in post-bid reviews and identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and processes.
  • Assist with negotiated bids, conceptual budgets, change-order pricing, and other estimating activities as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
  • Hands-on estimating experience with drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, or related interior finish trades is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and estimating practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Proven experience with detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, budgeting, and bid preparation.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar estimating and takeoff software.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify scope discrepancies and project risks.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Stable pipeline of commercial interior construction projects.
  • Diverse projects involving drywall, framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and interior finishes.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities.
  • Long-term career growth potential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
