We're Hiring | Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist

📍 Location: DUBAI

💼 Employment Type: Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have specialized expertise in diagnosing and managing eye conditions in infants, children, and adolescents, with strong experience in pediatric ophthalmic surgery and strabismus management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive ophthalmic assessment and management for pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and treat congenital, developmental, and acquired eye conditions in children.
  • Perform comprehensive pediatric eye examinations, including visual acuity and ocular alignment assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage strabismus, amblyopia, refractive errors, and binocular vision disorders.
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, and other childhood eye diseases.
  • Perform pediatric ophthalmic surgical procedures within the physician’s scope of practice.
  • Perform strabismus surgery and other appropriate pediatric eye procedures.
  • Assess and manage congenital and developmental ocular abnormalities.
  • Provide appropriate pre-operative counselling and post-operative care.
  • Work closely with pediatricians, neurologists, geneticists, orthoptists, optometrists, and other multidisciplinary specialists.
  • Provide guidance to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term eye health.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with clinical governance and patient-safety standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, education, and CME activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology.
  • Fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus preferred.
  • Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist/consultant qualification.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience, with significant pediatric ophthalmology exposure.
  • Strong experience in pediatric eye care and ophthalmic surgery.
  • Expertise in the diagnosis and management of strabismus and amblyopia.
  • Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai.
  • Excellent communication and patient-management skills.
