The posting
Bully Pulpit International is an outcomes agency made up of strategists, data scientists, and artists. We come from politics, brands, and government and we communicate without barriers and measure what matters. We have more than 400 team members in six countries and thirteen offices — Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, D.C., London, Los Angeles, New York, Oslo, San Francisco, and Zürich. We apply our unique expertise across strategic communications, public affairs, research, and digital marketing to create sophisticated and customized strategies that make change possible for both American and European clients.
The Impact You Will Make
We are looking for a Creative Technologist who lives at the intersection of creative storytelling, video production, and emerging technology. As BPI accelerates its transition into an AI-enabled creative agency, you will partner with our Creative team as our resident expert, practitioner, and champion.
This is a hands-on, hybrid Creative and Technology role. You will guide the discovery, testing, implementation, and adoption of generative AI tools across our Creative and Production teams. Beyond experimentation, you will roll up your sleeves to execute live client work, build rapid prototypes, establish responsible governance, and help package AI capabilities into pitchable, revenue-generating client offerings.
- Starting Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000 (+ annual bonus)
- Expectation to work on-site in either SF, NYC, DC, or CHI at least 3 days a week
What You'll Do
- Deliver Client Work: Partner with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Copywriters, Producers, and Video Editors to develop and execute AI-driven and hybrid concepts for public affairs campaigns, brand reputation ads, and social impact content.
- Hands-On AI Filmmaking: Lead generation across video, image, motion, and audio, combining generative AI tools with traditional post-production (editorial, motion graphics, VFX, and color finishing) to produce broadcast- and digital-quality assets.
- Pre-Production: Build concept films, storyboards, and animatics to close the “imagination gap” before hero production begins.
- Productize AI-Enabled Creative Offerings: Partner with Creative and Production leadership to package AI and hybrid production capabilities into paid client offerings.
- Lead Creative Team Adoption: Drive agency-wide capability building by leading hands-on training and workshops for the broader Creative and Production teams.
- Continuous Tool Evaluation: Evaluate emerging AI tools, models, and platforms (across video, image, audio, and agentic workflows).
Requirements
What You Bring
- 10+ years of creative and technology experience in filmmaking, advertising agency, or content creation environments.
- Proven Hands-On GenAI Mastery: Deep practical fluency with modern generative AI platforms across video (Runway Enterprise, Sora, Luma, Pika), image synthesis (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion/ComfyUI), and audio (ElevenLabs), alongside general AI models (Gemini, ChatGPT).
- Strong Creative Judgment: Exceptional aesthetic standards for storytelling and the ability to discern when an AI output genuinely elevates the narrative versus when it distracts from the campaign goal.
- Technical Filmmaking and/or Post-Production Skills: Solid grounding in traditional filmmaking techniques and/or post-production software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, or Resolve).
- Collaborative Mindset: Enthusiasm for teaching, mentoring, and translating complex technical tools into plain language for creatives, producers, account leads, and clients.
**Applications without a portfolio showing AI-driven creative projects will not be considered.**
