About Us

Fred Astaire Dance Studios is a premier name in dance instruction, and we are actively expanding our brand and footprint right here in Kansas City. We pride ourselves on creating an exciting, high-energy environment where clients can discover the joy of dance. Because we primarily work around the busy schedules of adult professionals, our studio operating hours are from 1:15 PM to 10:00 PM. We are seeking a long-term team member who is eager to thrive in this dynamic evening environment, grow with our business, and play a vital role in our studio's continued expansion.

Job Summary

Are you high-energy, detail-oriented, and love working directly with people? We are looking for a Customer Service Representative / New Student Specialist to be the face of our studio. This is a dynamic, active, "on-your-feet" position. You will welcome new clients, handle front-facing customer service, and work hands-on with beginners to teach them their very first set of introductory dance lessons.

No prior dance instruction experience is required. We provide 100% of the comprehensive training you need to feel confident teaching basic introductory steps and managing client accounts.

Key Responsibilities/Future

  • Hands-On Client Engagement: Welcome new students to the studio, conduct tours, and introduce them to our community.
  • Introductory Instruction: Guide new clients through their first set of foundational dance lessons using our proven studio system.
  • Customer Support & Sales: Assist new clients in selecting the best enrollment packages to meet their goals and manage scheduling/accounts.
  • Studio Ambassadorship: Maintain an upbeat, positive atmosphere in the studio and assist with studio events, parties, and local brand promotions.
  • Brand Growth: Collaborate with the leadership team to help expand the Fred Astaire brand presence in the Kansas City area.
  • Path to Advanced Teaching: Over time, transition into teaching advanced patterns, choreography, and higher-level medal standards to established students.

Requirements

  • High Energy & Presence: Someone who thrives in an active, on-your-feet role and loves face-to-face interaction.
  • Growth Mindset: An ambitious individual looking for a long-term career opportunity with room for professional advancement.
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to connect with diverse groups of people, make them feel at ease, and clearly explain studio programs.
  • Reliability & Professionalism: A dependable team player dedicated to maintaining high professional standards and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • Continuous Dance Education: Commit to ongoing professional development to continually advance your own dance knowledge, technique, and teaching theory.

Benefits

Travel Opportunities: Exciting opportunities to travel for regional and national Fred Astaire dance competitions, showcases, and professional training seminars.

Paid Time Off (PTO) & Sick Days: Generous paid time off and dedicated sick leave to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

Healthcare Support: Monthly healthcare stipend to assist with your medical premium costs.

Performance Bonuses: Competitive bonus structures that reward your direct contribution to studio growth and student retention.

Comprehensive Paid Training: Full, continuous training provided on both customer service operations and introductory-to-advanced dance instruction.

Career Advancement: Clear pathways for long-term career growth and leadership roles as we continue to expand our brand in Kansas City.

Dynamic Work Environment: Skip the standard desk job—stay active, meet incredible people, and enjoy a high-energy workplace every day.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
