The posting

The Dean of Business provides strategic and academic leadership for the Business School at Metropolitan College, overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes delivered in partnership with UK universities. The Dean is responsible for ensuring academic excellence, student success, portfolio growth, and compliance with partner university and regulatory requirements.

As a member of the College's academic leadership team, the Dean leads programme development, faculty performance, quality assurance, and external engagement. The role works closely with partner universities, employers, and professional bodies to enhance the School's reputation, industry relevance, and contribution to the College's strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the academic quality, performance, and strategic development of all Business School programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with partner university quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive innovation in curriculum design, teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Enhance student outcomes, including progression, retention, satisfaction, and employability.
  • Lead, develop, and support academic staff and Programme Leaders.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with universities, employers, and professional bodies.
  • Manage the School's resources, budget, and staffing effectively.
  • Contribute to College-wide strategy and represent the Business School internally and externally.

Requirements

Essential

  • Doctorate in Business, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Significant academic leadership experience in higher education.
  • Experience with UK higher education quality assurance and programme management.
  • Proven success in curriculum development and improving student outcomes.
  • Experience leading academic teams and managing resources.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (SFHEA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with professional accreditation (e.g. AACSB, EFMD, AMBA, CMI, ACCA/CIMA).
  • Knowledge of the Greek higher education environment.
  • Relevant industry or executive education experience.
  • High Ethical Standards and Integrity in all professional activities and decision-making.
  • Adaptability and Change Management Skills, with the ability to respond effectively to challenges and changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to Continuous Personal and Professional Development, staying informed about advancements in academia and continuously enhancing one’s skills and knowledge.
