The posting

About us

Guru Pay is a Lithuania-based electronic money institution (EMI) offering a boutique payment experience: e-money, IBAN accounts, and domestic and cross-border payments, including SEPA, for clients across the EU and beyond. We're a regulated, small and ambitious team focused on high-quality service and long-term client success.

About the role

We're looking for a Deputy AML Compliance Officer to support the oversight, development and ongoing effectiveness of our Financial Crime Prevention framework, covering AML/CFT, sanctions compliance and fraud prevention. This is a second-line compliance role, working closely with the AML Compliance Officer (AMLCO) to keep the framework effective, risk-based and aligned with Lithuanian and EU regulatory requirements.

You'll provide independent oversight and advice, assess Financial Crime risks and controls, contribute to regulatory interactions and support reporting to senior management and the Management Board. The role combines regulatory expertise, risk assessment, stakeholder collaboration and ownership of key Financial Crime Prevention initiatives across the company.

What you'll do:

  • Support the AMLCO in developing, maintaining and enhancing the Financial Crime Prevention framework
  • Establish and maintain policies, standards, methodologies and controls in line with regulatory requirements and the Company's risk profile
  • Perform second-line monitoring and testing of control design and operating effectiveness, identify deficiencies and oversee remediation
  • Perform and support enterprise-wide Financial Crime risk assessments, as well as assessments of new products, services, processes and material changes
  • Provide independent second-line advice on Financial Crime risks, regulatory requirements and mitigation measures, including in complex or escalated matters and where the Company's risk appetite needs interpreting
  • Act as an escalation point for suspicious activity: assess escalated cases, file SAR/STR reports with the FIU and handle FIU and law enforcement requests
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the framework
  • Prepare reporting to senior management and the Management Board on risks, control effectiveness, deficiencies and remediation progress
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits and interactions with supervisory authorities
  • Contribute to Financial Crime Prevention training and awareness across the company

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years in AML/CFT or Financial Crime Compliance, including a senior or second-line compliance role in a financial institution or other regulated entity
  • Practical understanding of the AML/CFT compliance function within the three lines of defence model
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Lithuanian and EU AML/CFT requirements and broader Financial Crime regulation and standards
  • Experience assessing Financial Crime risks, controls and compliance frameworks, and giving practical advice on complex or escalated matters
  • Good understanding of suspicious activity identification, investigation, escalation and SAR/STR reporting
  • Strong skills in drafting, reviewing and maintaining policies, procedures, risk assessments and other compliance documentation
  • Ability to critically assess processes and controls, identify deficiencies and make clear, practical recommendations
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable working across multiple internal and external systems and data sources
  • Excellent professional Lithuanian and English, written and spoken
  • Ability to advise and constructively challenge stakeholders at all levels
  • Ownership mindset: you manage several priorities and initiatives at once, collaborate well and make independent, well-reasoned decisions

Nice to have:

  • Experience as a Deputy AMLCO, Deputy MLRO or in a similar second-line Financial Crime Compliance role
  • Experience with enterprise-wide Financial Crime risk assessments
  • Experience in compliance monitoring, control effectiveness assessments, thematic reviews or similar second-line assurance work
  • Exposure to regulatory inspections, audits or direct interaction with supervisory authorities
  • AML or Financial Crime Compliance certification (ICA, CAMS or similar)
  • Practical experience with sanctions compliance and fraud prevention frameworks

What we offer:

  • Gross salary starting from 4,000 EUR, with the final offer depending on experience and fit
  • Encouragement and funds to support your learning and certifications
  • An extra vacation day on your birthday
  • Hybrid work options between the office in Vilnius and anywhere you desire
  • Workations, health challenges & other types of quality time
  • Close work with senior management, with autonomy, ownership and a direct impact on our Financial Crime Prevention framework
  • A team which values high standards in client care, product quality and each other

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
