ACC Members serve with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities.

Five Point Center Inc. takes a whole person, community based approach to addressing barriers related to food, housing, education, technology, and belonging. Our programs include food access and nutrition, emergency assistance, housing support, digital literacy and technology access, health and wellness services, and community connection. Through our Digital Resource Center, we help community members build digital skills, access technology, and gain the confidence needed to participate more fully in an increasingly digital world.
Position Overview
Five Point Center is seeking a Digital Navigator to support community members in developing basic digital skills and becoming more comfortable using technology. This is an entry-level position for someone who enjoys helping people, is comfortable using computers and everyday technology, and is willing to learn. The Digital Navigator will work under the direction of the Program Manager and will assist with digital literacy classes, one-on-one technology support, community outreach, and daily operations of the Digital Resource Center and approved service activities supporting the Digital Resource Center. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, friendly, and comfortable working with people of different ages and technology skill levels. All service activities will be conducted under the guidance and supervision of host site staff and in accordance with AmeriCorps program requirements, regulations, and prohibited activities guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist community members with basic computer, smartphone, tablet, internet, and technology questions.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to participants.
- Help participants learn to use email, websites, online forms, applications, and common digital tools.
- Help participants practice safe and responsible use of technology.
- Ask for assistance from the Program Manager when a question or technical issue is beyond the scope of the position.
- Assist with and support the facilitation of scheduled digital literacy classes and workshops.
- Prepare computers, equipment, and materials before classes.
- Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the Program Manager.
- Assist participants during class activities.
- Support basic lessons or activities when directed by the Program Manager.
- Take attendance and provide basic participation information.
- Help clean and organize the classroom following each session.
- Learn to safely operate Maker Space equipment and technology.
- Assist community members with basic Maker Space activities and projects.
- Help participants learn how to use equipment and follow established procedures.
- Assist with equipment setup and cleanup.
- Help maintain an organized Maker Space and properly store tools and materials.
- Assist with Maker Space workshops and activities as directed by the Program Manager.
- Report equipment problems, safety concerns, or supply needs to the Program Manager.
- Follow all safety procedures and receive appropriate training before operating equipment.
- Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Digital Navigator will:
- Help promote digital literacy classes and services.
- Distribute flyers and other outreach materials.
- Participate in community events and outreach activities.
- Assist with connecting community members to available digital resources.
- Help identify common technology needs within the community and share observations with the Program Manager.
- Help keep the Digital Resource Center clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Assist with preparing technology and equipment for classes and appointments.
- Report equipment problems, supply needs, and other concerns to the Program Manager.
- Help ensure participants have a welcoming and positive experience.
- Record class attendance and participant assistance.
- Track assigned outreach activities.
- Provide a simple weekly activity report to the Program Manager.
- Communicate questions, concerns, and program needs promptly.
All functions and activities performed by the AmeriCorps Member are completed under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program and host site staff.
Learning & Development Opportunities
As an ACC Member, you will receive structured training and support throughout your service year, including:
- A week-long virtual orientation with the national cohort to kick off the service year.
- A week-long, in-person national Winter Institute convening with your ACC cohort — travel, lodging, and a per diem stipend are fully covered.
- Twice-monthly virtual training on skills for service, including project management, asset-based community development, grant writing, and serving vulnerable populations, plus self-paced curricula with opportunities to earn badges and credentials.
- A structured community listening tour at the start of service to understand local needs, assets, and opportunities.
- Dedicated 1:1 support from a Lead For America Program Coordinator and twice-monthly peer pod meetings for networking and professional development.
- Access to a national network of ACC Members, alumni, and community partners.
Requirements
- Passion for community service and connecting your neighbors to the digital tools, skills, and opportunities they need to thrive.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Interest in gaining experience in community development or digital inclusion.
Eligibility:
- Be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Be 17 years of age or older by the start of service.
- Have not already served four (4) or more AmeriCorps State/National terms.
Timeline:
We are currently recruiting Members to serve from December 7th, 2026 - August 13th, 2027. Members will serve full-time (approximately 40 hours per week), completing 1200 hours of service over the course of the term.

- A $23,300 living stipend (dispersed bi-weekly over the course of the service term)
