The posting

Reporting directly to the Cluster General Manager, the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing will

serve as the senior commercial leader responsible for developing and executing the sales, marketing,

distribution, and revenue growth strategies across a portfolio of hotels.

This role extends beyond traditional hotel sales leadership. It requires a strategic commercial mindset

capable of managing multiple brands and hotel positioning, ensuring each property achieves its

market potential while contributing to the overall success of the cluster.

The successful candidate will lead all commercial functions through pre-opening, launch, and

stabilization phases, working closely with Revenue Management, Operations, Ownership, and

Corporate stakeholders to maximize revenue performance, market share, and long-term asset value.

As a key member of the Cluster Executive Committee, you will play a critical role in establishing the

commercial foundations of the hotels, driving business demand, building strategic partnerships, and

creating sustainable revenue streams across diverse customer segments.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy & Business Development

• Develop and execute a cluster-wide commercial strategy that drives revenue growth, market

share, profitability, and long-term asset value.

• Establish individual positioning strategies for each hotel based on its target market, customer

profile, and business objectives.

• Drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total hotel revenue performance across the portfolio.

• Identify emerging market opportunities, demand trends, and competitive developments to

strengthen the market position of each property.

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and long-term commercial

strategy development.

Pre-Opening Commercial Leadership:

• Lead all commercial pre-opening activities across the hotel cluster.

• Develop and execute pre-opening sales, marketing, digital, and distribution strategies.

• Establish market awareness and demand generation plans prior to opening.

• Build account pipelines and secure key corporate, leisure, government, MICE, and wholesale

business opportunities ahead of launch.

•Develop opening campaigns, launch events, and public relations initiatives to establish

market presence.

• Ensure all sales systems, distribution channels, marketing platforms, collateral, and CRM tools

are fully operational prior to opening.

Sales Leadership

• Lead and inspire a high-performing cluster sales team focused on delivering measurable

business results.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, government entities, travel

agencies, DMCs, event planners, airlines, and tourism partners.

• Drive account acquisition, account management, and market penetration strategies across

multiple segments.

• Establish sales targets, performance metrics, and business development plans for the

commercial team.

• Ensure effective management of local, regional, and international sales opportunities.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

• Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across all hotels.

• Ensure each hotel maintains a clear and differentiated market position aligned with its brand

and target audience.

• Lead digital marketing, social media, content, PR, partnerships, and promotional campaigns.

• Drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and direct booking growth.

• Monitor marketing performance and optimize investment to maximize return on spend.

Stakeholder & Partnership Management

• Build strong relationships with ownership, operators, tourism authorities, event organizers,

and strategic partners.

• Represent the hotel cluster at industry events, trade shows, roadshows, and networking

activities.

• Identify partnership opportunities that support revenue growth and market visibility.

• Provide regular commercial updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and

ownership.

Team Leadership & Performance

• Recruit, develop, and mentor a best-in-class commercial team.

• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Establish succession plans and talent development programs.

• Promote cross-selling opportunities and collaboration across all hotels within the cluster.

• Drive commercial performance through data-driven decision-making and ongoing coaching.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a commercially focused, entrepreneurial, and highly strategic leader

with a proven track record of driving business performance across multiple hotels, brands, or market

segments.

You will bring:

• Significant experience leading sales, marketing, and commercial functions within hotel

portfolios, clusters, or multi-property environments.

• Proven pre-opening experience, including commercial launch strategy, demand generation,

and market activation.

• Strong understanding of multiple hotel market segments including corporate, leisure, group,

government, events, and tourism-driven demand.

• Demonstrated success in driving occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and revenue

growth.

• Strong expertise in sales leadership, digital marketing, distribution, and revenue optimization.

• Exceptional business acumen with the ability to translate market intelligence into actionable

commercial strategies.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing

commercial teams.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience within Saudi Arabia or the GCC hospitality market is highly desirable.

• Experience managing commercial functions for mixed-brand, multi-property, or destination based

hospitality developments will be highly regarded.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
