The Director, UX and Product Design will own the overall user experience, UI/UX architecture, and product design direction across the product portfolio. This individual will be responsible for translating complex user needs and workflows into intuitive, high-quality product experiences while contributing meaningfully to product strategy. The role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Science, and Commercial teams to ensure product experiences are grounded in user evidence, aligned with business objectives, and designed to drive adoption, engagement, retention, and growth.

The Director will also establish scalable design systems and design processes and will have the opportunity to build and lead the UI/UX design organization as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the overall UI/UX architecture and product design direction across the product portfolio.
  • Develop information architecture, navigation structures, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity product designs.
  • Translate complex user needs, workflows, and product requirements into intuitive, efficient, and compelling user experiences.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and customer discovery to inform product decisions, value propositions, and product requirement specifications.
  • Contribute to the direction of product strategy through well-structured proposals grounded in user evidence, customer needs, and product insights.
  • Drive alignment between product experiences and user workflows to increase adoption, engagement, stickiness, retention, and ultimately business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing products and systematically improve usability, discoverability, consistency, and overall product quality.
  • Establish and evolve processes for design reviews, UX critique, prototyping, user validation, and design decision-making.
  • Work cross-functionally as a product leader with Science, Commercial, Product, and Engineering teams to define user requirements and validate desired outcomes from early product definition through implementation.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, Scientific/Content, and other creative teams where product and brand experiences intersect, ensuring visual brand standards are applied coherently across the customer experience.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to establish and maintain a scalable design system, including reusable components, interaction patterns, and UX principles, while maintaining a high bar for design quality and implementation fidelity.
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor UI/UX and product design professionals as the Product Design organization grows.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in product design, UX design and architecture, interaction design, or related disciplines, with significant experience designing B2B or B2X digital products.
  • Experience designing enterprise, scientific, technical, analytical, data-intensive, or workflow-oriented software or related products which serve highly specialized professional or technical users.
  • Strong proficiency with modern product design methodologies and tools, including prototyping platforms and emerging AI-enabled design and prototyping tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate and defend design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
