About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Sales Business Analyst to serve as a key liaison among the Sales organization, Revenue Operations, and enterprise technology teams. In this role, you will optimize the performance, adoption, and business value of the Dynamics 365 Sales platform by translating business needs into clear requirements, supporting system enhancements, coordinating user acceptance testing, and enabling data-driven sales operations. You will collaborate closely with Sales leadership, Revenue Operations, IT, Enterprise Applications, developers, quality assurance teams, release managers, and other business stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong D365 Sales functional knowledge with business process analysis, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and change management skills to support current business needs and future growth.

Essential Responsibilities

D365 Functional Ownership and Business Analysis

  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for Dynamics 365 Sales features, functionality, configuration options, and related business processes.
  • Partner with Sales leadership, Revenue Operations, IT, and Enterprise Applications teams to assess current and future business needs and align D365 Sales capabilities accordingly.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, fit-gap analyses, process mapping, and documentation for sales lifecycle processes, including lead-to-opportunity, opportunity-to-close, account and contact management, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and backlog items for development and configuration teams.
  • Recommend process improvements and practical system solutions that support evolving business priorities.

Solution Delivery and Project Support

  • Contribute to sprint planning and backlog refinement led by the Product Owner.
  • Support solution demonstrations, release-readiness activities, and coordination among developers, quality assurance teams, release managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with enterprise development teams to deliver system enhancements, workflow optimization, automation, reporting improvements, and integrations that meet evolving business requirements.
  • Support the full D365 Sales project lifecycle, including design, configuration validation, go-live readiness, post-go-live stabilization, and ongoing production support.
  • Document system configurations, business processes, decision points, release impacts, and best practices to support internal knowledge sharing and ongoing operations.

Data Quality, Reporting, and Governance

  • Identify data needs, data-integrity issues, duplicate records, validation gaps, and master-data opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve CRM data quality, governance, cleansing, deduplication, validation, security, and permissions.
  • Define and monitor adoption and data-quality key performance indicators in partnership with Revenue Operations.
  • Track progress against target metrics and recommend improvements that increase reporting accuracy, scalability, efficiency, and sales productivity.
  • Monitor system usage, adoption trends, user feedback, and support themes to identify enhancement opportunities.

Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing

  • Coordinate user acceptance testing by developing test scenarios and supporting business testers.
  • Partner with quality assurance teams to validate defects, confirm acceptance criteria, and support regression testing before releases.
  • Verify that system enhancements and configurations meet documented business requirements.
  • Support release-readiness and post-release validation activities.

Adoption, Training, and Change Management

  • Deliver functional demonstrations, training sessions, quick-reference guides, and change communications to support adoption of D365 Sales capabilities.
  • Engage technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout system enhancements and process changes.
  • Support users during implementation, stabilization, and ongoing production operations.
  • Gather user feedback and recommend improvements that strengthen usability, adoption, and business value.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Five or more years of experience supporting users and business stakeholders on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, including hands-on configuration or functional experience across at least two full implementation or enhancement projects. Experience with other CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, may substitute for up to two years of the D365-specific experience requirement.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 Sales, including sales processes, pipeline management, account and contact management, forecasting, and CRM best practices.
  • Experience developing requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and business-ready documentation.
  • Proficiency in using artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency, automate routine tasks, and support business analysis activities.
  • Experience coordinating user acceptance testing and developing test scenarios, with working knowledge of defect triage and regression-testing processes.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Power Platform components, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
  • Experience with third-party integrations, API connectivity, and downstream systems such as enterprise resource planning, billing, marketing automation, customer service, or contact center platforms.
  • Understanding of CRM data quality, data migration, cleansing, deduplication, validation, security roles, permissions, and data-governance principles.
  • Experience delivering functional demonstrations, engaging stakeholders, training users, supporting adoption, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend process improvements and translate business priorities into practical system solutions.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Bonus Points For

  • Hands-on experience building Power BI dashboards and reports or working with D365 Sales Insights and other sales analytics or performance-measurement tools.
  • Experience using process-mapping and diagramming tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and release-readiness activities.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Sales Functional Consultant Associate certification or a related Microsoft Power Platform certification.
  • Change management experience supporting user adoption of new systems or processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce in addition to Dynamics 365.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
