Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas, expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

As an E-Commerce Manager (DTC), you will play a critical role in owning and growing a major e-commerce marketplace, with a primary focus on Amazon and a secondary focus on Shopify. You'll be responsible for the full channel—from product detail pages and advertising through inventory, forecasting, fulfillment, and performance management.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong marketplace expertise with commercial and operational thinking. You'll need to understand how traffic, product pages, conversion, advertising, inventory, replenishment, and revenue connect, while taking ownership of the details that keep the channel healthy and growing.

Accountability

Your success as the E-Commerce Manager (DTC) will be defined by your ability to own the e-commerce channel end to end, identify opportunities and issues proactively, and ensure that marketing, inventory, and operational decisions work together to support growth.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

End-to-End E-Commerce Management

  • Own day-to-day marketplace operations with a primary focus on Amazon.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Amazon channel.
  • Monitor channel performance and proactively identify issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain visibility across traffic, product detail pages, conversion, sales, inventory, and replenishment.
  • Understand how changes across the channel affect overall revenue performance.
  • Ensure the marketplace remains healthy, accurate, and operationally reliable.

Product Detail Page & Listing Optimization

  • Manage and optimize product listings and product detail pages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information.
  • Improve product discoverability and conversion through effective listing optimization.
  • Monitor listing health and SKU performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product content and marketplace performance.
  • Bring strong marketplace expertise and proactively recommend improvements.

Amazon Advertising

  • Set up, monitor, and optimize Amazon advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor advertising performance and identify underperforming campaigns.
  • Manage advertising activity against broader sales objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Use advertising data to understand traffic and conversion performance.
  • Ensure advertising decisions are aligned with overall channel performance.

FBA Inventory & Replenishment

  • Monitor FBA inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
  • Identify stockout risks and potential inventory constraints.
  • Coordinate replenishment with relevant operational stakeholders.
  • Monitor lead times, aging inventory, and expected demand.
  • Maintain visibility into inventory movement and upcoming requirements.
  • Document important inventory and replenishment changes.
  • Ensure recurring inventory deadlines are met.

Forecasting & Demand Planning

  • Build and maintain monthly forecasts using actual performance, historical data, inventory, demand, sales activity, and relevant trends.
  • Monitor expected demand against available inventory and fulfillment capacity.
  • Update forecasts as business conditions change.
  • Clearly document assumptions behind forecasts.
  • Identify potential gaps between expected demand and available inventory.
  • Use forecasting to support better replenishment and channel decisions.

Month-End Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Reconcile sales, inventory movement, current inventory, forecast assumptions, and replenishment activity.
  • Monitor variances between expected and actual performance.
  • Investigate and explain material differences.
  • Provide clear visibility into where performance landed and why.
  • Use reconciliation findings to inform future forecasts and operational decisions.

Revenue Performance Management

  • Monitor progress against monthly revenue objectives.
  • Identify whether the channel is on track and, if not, understand why.
  • Determine which levers can improve performance, including advertising, product detail pages, inventory, replenishment, forecasting, and operations.
  • Turn channel performance data into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Maintain a commercial understanding of how operational decisions affect revenue.

Shopify & Cross-Functional Operations

  • Support Shopify operations as a secondary channel.
  • Maintain awareness of storefront and e-commerce activity outside Amazon.
  • Coordinate with operations, sales, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support inventory, forecasting, replenishment, fulfillment, and marketplace-related activities.
  • Ensure information and operational requirements are communicated clearly across functions.

Colleagues

You'll work closely with operations, sales, fulfillment, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that marketplace activity, inventory, forecasting, and operational execution remain aligned. You'll act as the operational owner of the e-commerce channel, bringing visibility to performance and proactively identifying what needs to change to keep the business moving forward.

At Oceans Talent, you'll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you're continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans Talent, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area paired with broad curiosity across the business. As the E-Commerce Manager (DTC), your vertical focus will be on Amazon marketplace management and e-commerce growth, while your horizontal focus will include advertising, inventory, forecasting, fulfillment, analytics, Shopify, and cross-functional operations.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Amazon e-commerce operations, including Seller Central, FBA, marketplace growth, inventory, forecasting, and advertising.
  • Amazon: Meaningful hands-on experience independently operating Seller Central, beyond basic listing or administrative work.
  • FBA: Strong understanding of FBA operations, inventory management, and replenishment.
  • Marketplace Growth: Experience managing and improving e-commerce marketplace performance.
  • PDP Optimization: Strong understanding of product detail page and listing optimization.
  • Amazon Advertising: Hands-on experience with Amazon Ads and campaign optimization.
  • Forecasting: Experience building forecasts using historical performance, demand, inventory, and sales data.
  • Inventory & Reconciliation: Experience managing inventory movement, replenishment, and month-end reconciliation.
  • Analytics: Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills, with the ability to turn operational data into recommendations.
  • Physical Products: Experience working with physical-product e-commerce businesses.
  • Operations: Strong understanding of the connection between marketplace activity, inventory, fulfillment, and revenue.
  • Organization: Strong deadline management and attention to recurring operational requirements.
  • Autonomy: Ability to take ownership of a channel and proactively identify what needs to be done without step-by-step supervision.

During the interview process, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Amazon Marketplace Management: How you manage Seller Central and identify opportunities to improve channel performance.
  • PDP & Conversion: How you approach product detail page optimization and marketplace conversion.
  • Amazon Advertising: How you build, monitor, and optimize advertising activity.
  • Inventory & FBA: How you manage inventory, replenishment, and stockout risk.
  • Forecasting & Analytics: How you use data to forecast demand and make operational decisions.
  • Revenue Performance: How you diagnose performance against targets and determine which levers to pull.
  • Ownership & Execution: How you independently manage recurring deadlines, solve problems, and coordinate across functions.

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
